A photograph appears to leak June 2016's free Games with Gold, which will apparently include Ryse: Son of Rome on Xbox One and Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360.

At the end of each month, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can always count on Microsoft's Major Nelson announcing the next month's free Games with Gold games. However, it appears as though June 2016's free Games with Gold have been leaked a little bit ahead of time, and if the leak is accurate, next month could be one of the better months for the program.

The photo shows that Xbox One owners can look forward to downloading Ryse: Son of Rome as well as Lichdom: Battlemage for free next month. For the unaware, Ryse was one of the Xbox One's launch titles, and while it was praised for its high quality graphics, it was criticized for its linear gameplay. Lichdom: Battlemage, meanwhile, is a first-person fantasy action game that released just a couple of months ago to mixed reviews.

Having said that, it looks like Xbox 360 owners are getting the better deal in June, as it appears as though the free games for that platform will be the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption and BioShock Infinite. Of course, if the leak is accurate, Xbox One owners will also be able to download Red Dead Redemption and BioShock Infinite for free, thanks to the Xbox One's backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games.

Rumor Patrol: June Xbox Games With Gold Includes Red Dead, Ryse - June 2016 leaked Games with Gold games

Now, there's some things to analyze when it comes to this leak. For one, if Red Dead Redemption truly is one of the free Xbox 360 games for June, then it would be the first Rockstar Games title added to the service. Since BC Red Dead Redemption has been tested in the past, its addition to the list of Xbox 360 games playable on Xbox One wouldn't come as that big of a surprise, despite Rockstar's reluctance to add its games to the backward compatibility list.

However, if Red Dead Redemption is indeed coming to the service, then it would seem as though the rumors of a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption aren't true. While that may disappoint some fans, the timing of having Red Dead Redemption added to the service in June is interesting, as Red Dead Redemption 2 is rumored to be revealed at E3 2016 - an event set to take place next month as well.

Before fans get too excited, though, they must consider that this leak could be fake. After all, BioShock Infinite was already a Games with Gold game, and a free game has never been repeated for the same platform in the history of the service. If the leak is legitimate, perhaps BioShock Infinite will only be available to subscribers of a specific region, and gamers in other regions will receive a different Xbox 360 game instead.

While the photo of the leaked games seems real enough, it's best for Gold subscribers to wait for an official announcement from Microsoft. Major Nelson is likely to reveal the next batch of free games this week or early next week, so at least the wait to see if these titles are June's free Games with Gold won't be too long.
