One of the most influential shonen manga of all time is Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho. While Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball or Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto may have more public notoriety, and Togashi himself is better known for Hunter x Hunter nowadays, Yu Yu Hakusho inspired other shonen manga such as Bleach. Because of this, it makes sense to see one of Yu Yu Hakusho's most beloved characters, Hiei, join the Shonen Jump crossover fighting game Jump Force, and Bandai Namco has revealed a first look at the character's gameplay.

First appearing in episode six of the anime adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi's manga, Hiei is one of its four main protagonists. In the DLC, he will wield his Jangan and Dragon of Darkness Flame attacks, plucked straight from the pages of the 90s manga. The manga's primary protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi, appears alongside the villainous Younger Toguro in the initial release of Jump Force.

Hiei is the third character to join Jump Force's Character Pass 2, with My Hero Academia's Shoto Todoroki having released in May of this year and Hunter x Hunter's Meruem releasing soon, according to Bandai Namco. Following Hiei will be two unannounced characters from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Bleach, which are planned to be released in 2021. The game's second character pass is available for $17.99, with individual characters available to purchase for $3.99 each.

Jump Force is a 3D arena fighting game developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment that features characters from Shonen Jump's iconic catalogue of manga franchises. The game features multiple characters from anime and manga such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, as well as newer series like My Hero Academia, Black Clover, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

Hiei will join Jump Force in fall 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch version.
