Fans of Bleach have cause to rejoice ths week. The newest character for Jump Force has been announced, and it's one of main character Ichigo's greatest rivals: Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez.

Jump Force has been steadily releasing DLC characters over the months, with several leaked beforehand. Grimmjow is the latest confirmation, being officially revealed as upcoming DLC on the Bandai Namco US Twitter.

Grimmjow is from the Arrancar Arc of Bleach, one of the longest running arcs in the show's history. He is under the command of Sosuke Aizen, who has been in Jump Force since release. Like the other Arrancar from the show, he can use a powerful laser attack called a Cero, which the tweet indicates will be part of his moveset. Images revealed indicate that he can access his Bankai, called Pantera, most likely as his Transformation.

Fans have responded with joy at Grimmjow's inclusion, with some saying he should have been added earlier, as Ichigo's initial rival. Some are hoping that his inclusion means future Jump Force DLC may include Ulquiorra, another prominent fan favorite from the same arc. Grimmjow's defining features are his speed and overwhelming, area destroying power attacks, though that may not be enough to put him on par with Jump Force's strongest characters.

Grimmjow's inclusion may very well be enough to bring new players to the game, and bring old players back. His rivalry with Ichigo and personal backstory are considered some of Bleach's highlights. As there are few alternatives that will let fans take him for a spin, he may do for Jump Force what even fantastic mods could not.

On the other hand, many have called Jump Force a disappointment, citing a lukewarm story and an unbalanced roster. Patches have alleviated these to a certain degree, but not before many left the game behind forever. There are issues remaining that Grimmjow alone cannot fix, so only time will tell if his inclusion is too little, too late.

Jump Force is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
