Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most recent hit anime series and a worldwide sensation, ever since the airing of its season 1 back in 2020. The manga for Jujutsu Kaisen is currently still ongoing with over 20 volumes under its belt. Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, the manga began serialization in 2018 and has, since then, continued to be a fan-favorite.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a story that follows the main character, Yuji Itadori, as he is forced to integrate into a school for Jujutsu sorcerers. His goal is to find and consume all the fingers of a powerful curse named Ryomen Sukuna in an attempt to destroy him. The story has introduced an array of talented sorcerers since its debut, and with them, the author has introduced some incredibly powerful ones.

Updated on December 24, 2023, by Rei Penber: When it comes to combat in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, there are many different abilities that make individuals shine for different reasons. Cursed Techniques exist in many diverse forms and, over the years, fans have seen incredible users of this power. Among the many Jujutsu Sorcerers, there are some who possess a knack for this skill more than others. These are all the Jujutsu sorcerers who went on to become legends of their own respective eras and established an incredible legacy for themselves. While this list already goes over the strongest sorcerers in JJK, fans have now seen many others emerge over the years, thanks to the ongoing Culling Game arc. With that, this list has now been updated.

18 Nobara

• Cursed Technique: Straw Doll Technique

Nobara is one of the main characters in Jujutsu Kaisen and her technique is something fans are very well familiar with. Nobara is extremely skilled, having been able to match the power of Yuji Itadori on quite a few occasions. Her strength is such that she can even hold her own against a Special Grade Curse, which is very rare for a Grade Three Jujutsu Sorcerer.

Her understanding of Cursed Energy is also incredible, given that she has had no problems exorcizing even some difficult Curses. By utilizing her Curse Energy with the Straw Doll Technique, Nobara can hammer her enemies into oblivion. In fact, she was even able to damage Mahito, which is a very difficult thing to achieve. Another testament to her skill is the fact that she was able to use Black Flash, which is incredibly difficult to pull off.

17 Nanami

• Cursed Technqiue: Ratio

Kento Nanami is a character who made his debut in manga chapter 18 and anime episode 8. He is a graduate of Tokyo Jujutsu High and is ranked as a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer.

He is a powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer, being able to fight and hold back a Special Grade Curse, notably Mahito. He is a very precise fighter, using techniques like the 'Ratio Technique,' which allows him to divide his target into 10 pieces.

16 Takaba

• Cursed Technique: Comedian

Fumihiko Takaba is a character who debuted in chapter 146 of the manga. He is a failing comedian who was turned into a sorcerer to participate in the Culling Game by Kenjaku.

When resolved to entertain, his strength increases dramatically– reflecting his character as the entertainer he is. His 'Comedian' ability proved to be troublesome to someone as powerful as Satoru Gojo, and his hand-to-hand combat skills are very impressive as well.

15 Uraume

• Cursed Technique: Ice Formation

Uraume is an incredibly powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer who has been around for quite a long time. She is one of Sukuna's very loyal followers and has some connections with Kenjaku as well. Although a curse user, her control over cursed energy is incredible. Uraume possesses the cursed technique of Ice Formation using which she can manipulate cryokinetic powers. She can freeze anyone within an instant and break off all their limbs.

She's also an incredible user of reverse cursed technique, although not the most skilled in this aspect. Nonetheless, she is strong enough to fight against Hakari and hold her own. She is someone who has Sukuna's respect as well and that in itself goes to show how incredibly skilled she is when it comes to jujutsu sorcery.

14 Hiromi Higuruma

• Shikigami: Judgeman
• Domain Expansion: Deadly Sentencing

Hiromi Higuruma is a character who fans get to see in the Culling Game arc. This character was one of the many who awakened a cursed technique, thanks to Kenjaku’s grand plan and force activation through idle transfiguration. Hiromi Higuruma is an incredibly talented user of Jujutsu sorcery. Despite not having had cursed energy for that long, he managed to master its basics rather quickly and even learn advanced arts.

He's the only character that caught Kenjaku’s attention from those who received cursed techniques and that statement speaks for itself. He's a shikigami user and makes use of Judgeman, primarily through his Domain Expansion, called Deadly Sentencing. Inside this domain, nobody can resort to violence and the target can be put on a trial. If found guilty, they can either be executed using the Executioner's Sword, or even have their cursed technique confiscated, both of which are very terrible outcomes.

13 Megumi

• Cursed Technique: Ten Shadows
• Domain Expanion: Chimera Shadow Garden

Megumi Fushiguro acts as one of the main characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. He made his manga debut in the very first chapter and also the very first episode of the 2020 anime. Along with his fellow classmates, he is a first-year Jujutsu sorcerer at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Megumi is a grade 2 sorcerer and a descendant of the Zenin Clan– meaning he uses abilities inherited from them, such as the Prized 10 Shadow Technique. He is known to have massive potential.

12 Yuji

• Cursed Technique: N/A

Yuji Itadori is the show's main and most important character. He is one of the first characters fans are introduced to in the manga. Yuji is forced to integrate into Tokyo Jujutsu High as a first-year Jujutsu Sorcerer.

His life changes after he eats one of Sukuna's fingers, thus becoming a vessel for his power. Yuji shows early on that he is a skilled fighter and manages to defeat grade 1 curses with his combined superhuman strength and curse abilities. With time, he's only continued to grow stronger.

11 Kinji Hakari

• Cursed Technique: Private Pure Love Train
• Domain Expansion: Idle Death Gamble

Kinji Hakari is one of the strongest new-generation sorcerers in JJK. He is one of the few that Gojo earmarked to be the rising stars of the next generation. According to Gojo, he can one day reach his level of strength and that just goes to show how strong he is. His cursed energy has a rugged edge that deals extra damage. He also possesses the fastest reverse cursed technique in the entirety of JJK. His biggest strength is his first technique called Private Pure Love Train, which he primarily utilizes through Idle Death Gamble, his Domain Expansion.

Once he expands his domain, he gets to test his luck in a game of chance at a train station. If he lucks out, which he almost always does, he gains infinite cursed energy for 4 minutes and 11 seconds. Furthermore, he gains the ability to automatically regenerate from any damage he takes during these 4 minutes and 11 seconds. If that wasn't enough, he can luck out again and again and it gets easier each time. Technically, this ability can last incredibly long and make him one of the strongest characters in the entire story.

10 Aoi

• Cursed Technique: Boogie Woogie

Aoi Todo is a character that first appears during the Cursed Training arc in chapter 16 of the manga and episode 8 of the anime. He is a grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer and part of Kyoto Jujutsu High's third-year class.

During Geto's nightline attack in Kyoto, he singlehandedly defeated five Grade 1 and one Special Grade curse. He is a sorcerer with great strength that possesses tremendous brute force, coupled with good experience and mastery of his cursed powers.

9 Suguru Geto

• Cursed Technique: Cursed Spirit Manipulation

Suguru Geto is a powerful curse manipulator and former Jujutsu High student who acts as an antagonist in Jujutsu Kaisen. His first appearance is in chapter 10 of the manga and episode 5 of the anime.

He was part of the 4 Special Grades Sorcerers and is titled "The Worst Of All Curse Users." His main abilities come from his wide collection of cursed spirits, but he is also a great physical fighter.

8 Kashimo

• Cursed Technique: Genju Kohaku

Kashimo was the strongest sorcerer from 400 years ago and certainly an enigma that fans got to see in the Culling Game Arc. He was resurrected by none other than Kenjaku for the Culling Game arc. Although Kenjaku knew that Kashimo was weaker than Sukuna, he was still enamored by his incredible power. His skill was such that he was able to tie a battle against Hakari without even utilizing his cursed technique.

However, his cursed technique is a double-edged sword. Genju Kohaku gives him an incredible form that sees him coat his entire body and lightning, turning his flesh into lightning itself. He gains such power that he was able to overwhelm even Sukuna to some extent, although Sukuna was already weakened by Gojo at this point. That said, it was an incredible technique that saw him surpass human limitations, and even Sukuna admired the power that it possessed.

7 Toji Fushiguro

• Cursed Technique: N/A

Toji Fushiguro, also known as Toji Zenin, is Megumi's father and an assassin known as the Sorcerer Killer. He made his manga debut in chapter 66, during Gojo's Past arc where he acted as the primary antagonist, meaning his anime debut should be in season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen.

He is a non-curse user, but is still able to contend with the most powerful sorcerers– one of them being a younger Satoru Gojo, who was still an elite fighter even back then, along with the powerful curse manipulator, Suguru Geto.

6 Maki Zenin

• Cursed Technique: N/A

Maki Zenin is an important character who was introduced officially in chapter 10 of the manga and episode 5 of the anime. She is part of one of the three great sorcerer families, but was born a non-sorcerer. This caused people in the Zenin Clan to mistreat her.

While she has no cursed powers, she is still an extremely powerful woman, being able to wipe out the entirety of the Zenin Clan. She has great physical abilities and an excellent mastery of cursed weapons.

5 Yuki Tsukumo

• Cursed Technqiue: Star Rage
• Domain Expansion: Unnamed

Yuki is one of the strongest charcaters in Jujutsu Kaisen. She is a Special Grade, which is a rank that only a few others, such as Satoru Gojo, hold. While she isn't affiliated with Jujutsu High, she still works away towards a Curse-free world in her own way. Yuki is an excellent user of Cursed Energy and she possesses so much control over this art that she was even able to beat it into Aoi Todo.

She possesses the innate ability of Star Crush which adds weight to her techniques, making her strong enough to deal crushing blows to her enemies. Yuki was able to exorcize a Grade One Curse within a matter of seconds and even overpower Kenjaku in close-range combat effortlessly. She also possesses the ability to use Domain Expansion, however, she hasn't displayed it in the story so far. While Yuki ended up losing to Kenjaku, had she used her Domain Expansion, perhaps the result of this fight would have been different. Furthermore, in terms of pure strength, and power, Yuki certainly is better than him, however, his intelligence and smartness allowed him to win over her.

4 Kenjaku

• Cursed Technique: Brain Hopping
• Domain Expansion: Womb Profusion

Kenjaku is one of the main villains in Jujutsu Kaisen and fans saw him in the first season of the show as Suguru Geto. He is an ancient Sorcerer from around a thousand years ago who has, ever since then, been alive using his innate ability that lets him transplant his brain into the bodies of others. His goal is to evolve humanity to bring forth an age comparable to that of the Heian Era. Kenjaku is extremely powerful, and one of the strongest Domain users in the entire story, which also makes him one of the strongest JJK characters.

Fans have already seen what is capable of through his many fights against powerful characters and he has thrived, even being known as the evilest curse to ever exist when he was in Kamo's body. He could even overpower someone as strong as Choso and while that is great, his biggest asset is his incredible intelligence, using which he can deduce any ability quite easily. While Kenjaku is certainly not the strongest, he is among the very best Jujutsu Sorcerers to have been introduced in the series.

3 Yuta

Yuta Okkotsu is the main character in the prequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High, which was adapted into a movie by the title 'Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie' in late 2021. The movie has gone on to garner worldwide acclaim.

By Jujutsu High's standards, Yuta is recognized as one of only 4 Special Grade Sorcerers. His standout characteristic is his immeasurable curse energy, which manifested thanks to the "Queen Of Curses." He's certainly among the very strongest fighters in the series.

2 Ryomen Sukuna

• Cursed Technique: Unknown
• Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine

Sakuna is believed to be the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer from a thousand years ago. While many believed him to be a myth, he was actually a Sorcerer who, eventually, came to be known as the Disgraced One. Sukuna was strong enough to take on every Jujutsu Sorcerer of the old age and even though they all combined their efforts to stop him, they were unable to do so. He existed through Curse Objects and eventually, took residence in the body of Yuji Itadori, and thereafter moved to Megumi Fushiguro.

Sukuna is believed to be exceptionally powerful, having an incredible Innate Ability that fans do not know much about. He also possesses a powerful Domain Expansion, called Malevolent Shrine, however, his Domain is weaker than Satoru's Limitless. He's also strong enough to use Barrier techniques and Reverse Cursed Techniques to heal. Furthermore, it is also implied that he can copy techniques just by seeing them once and he has already done so after learning to split himself up. After watching Satoru, it is believed that he can even restore his burnt Cursed Energy with Reverse Cursed Technique. Sukuna is strong enough to contend with Satoru Gojo and even injure him severely. It is unknown who the stronger of the two is, however, Satoru is more than confident that he can take him down.

1 Satoru Gojo

• Cursed Technique: Limitless
• Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void

Satoru Gojo is undoubtedly the most powerful sorcerer to appear in the story of Jujutsu Kaisen. He is introduced as a central character in the story in the first chapter of the manga and the first anime episode.

Gojo is one of few Special Grade Sorcerers, and even among them, he is considered the very best. His most impressive technique is his 'Limitless' technique which he inherited from his family and this power allows him to have absolute control over space.
