Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie – Facts About Yuta Okkotsu

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a brilliant movie that sheds more light on the history of Jujutsu Sorcerers, especially when it comes to the second-year students of Tokyo Jujutsu High and the backstory of Satoru Gojo himself. The movie also sheds some light on the character of Yuta Okkotsu, a Special Grade Cursed Technique user who unwittingly curses the love of his life to try and prevent her death.

This leads to Yuta gaining the power of Rika Orimoto's cursed spirit, using her powers to squash the threat of some truly powerful demons, along with Suguru Geto himself. While the movie does a decent job of elaborating on his character, there are several things about Yuta that fans don't know about.

Michizane Sugawara is one of the most legendary Jujutsu Sorcerers of all time. The fact that this historic figure comes from the Gojo Clan shows just how much weight this name really has, with Yuta's boundless reserves of Cursed Energy being explained by this connection.

So, it's easy to see why Yuta is so powerful in battle. He might not have had complete control over his Cursed Energy, but Jujutsu Kaisen 0 showed his journey and how he managed to slowly control this power before even being able to tackle the mighty Suguru Geto himself.

5 The Cursed Spirit Is Still Within Yuta, Albeit Devoid Of Rika's Soul

Rika's Cursed Spirit is a powerful entity that served as Yuta's protective spirit for the majority of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. In the end, it's revealed that Rika was accidentally cursed by Yuta himself, with the latter letting her go free after finally accepting her death.

However, this doesn't mean that Rika's malevolent force has completely disappeared from Yuta's grasp. In fact, he actually uses this power later on in the series, with the explanation being that he's able to manifest what is basically a copy of Rika's spirit that boasts the same power and effectiveness as the original.

4 He's Considered To Be The Second-Strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer Behind Satoru Gojo Himself

There's a reason why everyone considers Satoru Gojo to be one of the most powerful Jujutsu Sorcerers around. This man has shown time and time again why he deserves this accolade, with his Jujutsu powers being the stuff of nightmares for his enemies.

So, it's not a small thing in the slightest that Yuta Okkotsu is considered to be the second-strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer behind Gojo himself. It shows exactly why Yuta was classified as a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer, with his powers being truly incredible to behold at times.

3 His Ability To Copy Techniques Is Unmatched

Near the end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta reveals that he's able to use the Cursed Speech technique that was supposed to be handed down Inumaki's clan. It showed that there's more to Yuta's power than what meets the eye, and this is elaborated upon in the manga as well.

It's revealed that Yuta's actual Cursed Ability is to copy techniques from other Jujutsu Sorcerers, regardless of the exclusivity of said technique. His mastery of Cursed Speech is perhaps the most impressive of the lot, with the Snake Eyes and Fangs symbol appearing on his face and mouth when he uses this technique in later fights as well!

2 His First Mission After Coming Back To Tokyo Is To Take Out Yuji Itadori

The end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 shows that Yuta was actually working as a Sorcerer in Africa all this time. However, with Gojo's arrival, it's clear that this character will appear in the main series once again, and it's the goal he has after reaching Tokyo that is perhaps the most shocking thing about his return.

After coming back, it's revealed that Yuta is the person assigned to execute Yuji Itadori after the Shibuya Incident. With Gojo out of the picture and the massive number of casualties that happened during this arc, the higher-ups found Itadori to be the perfect scapegoat and re-invoked the order to have him executed before Sukuna could be freed once again.

The best part about this entire scenario is that this was planned by Gojo from the get-go. He intentionally wanted Yuta to be the assigned executioner, giving him clear instructions to save Yuji and only pretend to hunt him down so that the higher-ups would be satisfied long enough to sort out this mess.

1 He's Learned How To Execute His Own Domain Expansion

Domain Expansion is one of the most advanced Cursed Techniques that any Jujutsu Sorcerer can learn. It's the ace in the hole of any Sorcerer who can use these powers to great effect as they catch the opposition off-guard and absolutely annihilate them with their techniques.

Over the course of the main series, it's revealed that Yuta has also trained himself to use his own version of the Domain Expansion. It shows just how much he's grown from his humble roots since the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and fans can't wait to see how effective this technique will be once its full power is revealed for everyone to see.
