Fans of the popular Yakuza series spin-off Judgment have been expecting the announcement of a sequel for a few weeks now. Now, a leak seems to indicate that Judgment won't have much longer to wait.
Sega has teased a Judgment sequel as recently as late last month, but the leak seems to confirm that the game is coming sooner than some players may have expected. Judgment was the start of a new open-world series that was a spin-off of the popular Yakuza series and introduced new features that many critics and fans alike grew to be very fond of.
Now, a PlayStation store leak seems to have confirmed a sequel. The leak occurred when the store page for the title was listed early on the Japanese PlayStation Store and was caught by Twitter user Wario64. The leak points towards the sequel being titled Lost Judgment, which does align with a patent filed by Sega back in March. The leak also found that the game's store page said that the game would release sometime this September, although that could be the Japan release with a Western release planned for later this year. The leak comes less than one month after Judgment was ported onto the new generation of consoles with a variety of visual improvements.
The leak also suggests that there will be a standard edition and a deluxe edition of the game available with the deluxe edition getting early access on September 21 with the standard edition being available a few days later. There will reportedly be an official announcement of the title tomorrow, so fans shouldn't have too much longer to wait to get some official news. Hopefully, the new announcement will do what many Judgment fans have hoped for and confirm the future of the series.
Only time will tell whether or not the official announcement does come tomorrow as the leak suggests, but it does seem likely. The store pages have been removed from the store since they were found, but the leak looks rather detailed and official. Hopefully, the leak is accurate so that fans get the official announcement with some more details. If the information is true, and a new Judgment title releases this September, it will be great for fans of the series to get some of the long-awaited answers to the mysteries left open by the first Judgment. With all of Sega's recent teases regarding the sequel, however, it seems rather likely that tomorrow will be a good day to be a Judgment fan.
