Actress and singer Keke Palmer has signed on to star in Jordan Peele's mysterious next film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Kaluuya, who headlined Peele's previous hit 2017 film Get Out, is currently in negotiations to star as well. Details for the project are currently under wraps, but Peele has written the script and is set to direct and produce. Peele is set to remake Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs for Universal Pictures, but at this time it's unclear if this casting is for that film or an original project.

Peele made his directorial debut back in 2017 with the critically acclaimed horror film Get Out, which garnered high praise and went on to win Peele an Academy Award for best original screenplay. Kaluuya also starred in that film as a young man who after being introduced to his white girlfriend's parents over a long weekend, uncovers a disturbing plot to steal his body for a brain transplant. Peele followed Get Out with another horror film, Us (2019) which starred Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke as a married couple who, along with their children, are attacked by frightening doppelgängers on their weekend retreat.

Palmer made her acting debut in 2004 in the film Barbershop 2: Back in Business. She got her first leading role in Akeelah and the Bee (2006), for which she won a Chicago Film Critics Association Award and a Young Artist Award for her role as an 11-year-old girl who proves her talents by participating in a spelling bee. She also had a regular role on the third season of the MTV series Scream, and most recently she was featured in the 2019 Jennifer Lopez stripper crime film, Hustlers.

Kaluuya has been making a name for himself in recent years. The English actor has been receiving high praise for his portrayal of activist and revolutionary Fred Hampton in the 2021 film Judas and the Black Messiah, for which he has earned a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor. Kaluuya also starred alongside the late Chadwick Boseman in the acclaimed 2018 Marvel film Black Panther. In the film, Kaluuya plays W'Kabi, a fellow Wakandan and leader of the border tribe, who betrays Boseman's character T'Challa and sides with villain Killmonger (Michael B Jordan).

The currently untitled Jordan Peele movie is set to be released July 22, 2022.
