Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantimania star Jonathan Majors will portray Kang in the Marvel Studios film. However, Majors portrayed a variant of Kang in Disney Plus' Loki and the actor recently opened up about his experience moving from one MCU project to the next.

Majors has built quite the resume for himself in recent years, appearing in award-winning projects like The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods, HBO's Lovecraft Country, Netflix's western The Harder They Fall, and he is now set to duel it out with Michael B. Jordan as the main antagonist in the upcoming boxing drama, Creed 3. But perhaps his most intriguing role so far is the villainous Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man 3.

Currently filming the Ant-Man sequel, Majors spoke with Variety, delving deeper into the version of Kang that is coming. "He Who Remains is in the world now, and so there's so much we know about him. There's 40 minutes of that guy and that narrative, so it really set me up to tell a story and add another canvas, with more players," said Majors. "This time, it's not the incredible Tom Hiddleston; I'm dealing with Paul Rudd and Evangeline and the likes of the Ant-Man family, so it's a whole different world and I'm just exploring and trying to do the best I can."

While Majors' version of the character seen in Loki was more high-spirited and eccentric, the version of Kang appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be much different. He Who Remains warned Loki and Sylvie about versions of himself that were less benevolent. According to He Who Remains, his variant will be eviler and bent on conquering all of space and time

Kang is being set up as a huge threat for the MCU as phase 4 continues heading in a more cosmic, multiversal direction. Majors' villain role will most likely span throughout multiple stories similar to how Thanos was presented during the Infinity Saga. How Kang will be connected to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is still not 100% clear, but the film's title obviously gives off a big hint (quantum realm connection). With the film's release date still over a year away, it will be interesting to see how much and when Kang is weaved into upcoming MCU films before his Ant-Man 3 depiction.

Putting aside how much screen time Majors' Kang will receive moving forward in the MCU, he is already receiving praise from his co-stars. Paul Rudd recently spoke highly of Majors' role, teasing that he will be an exciting new addition to the MCU. Majors will also star alongside Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne/Wasp, Michael Douglas' Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne, and Kathryn Newton's Cassie Lang.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to release in theaters on July 28, 2023.
