Unbridled violence and technical savagery has a new name in All Elite Wrestling, courtesy of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and William Regal. After his most recent victory on the March 24 episode of AEW Dynamite alongside Danielson, Moxley took to the microphone to praise his allies, as well as lay down the gauntlet for anyone looking to join or fight the newly-dubbed "Blackpool Combat Club."

It has only been two weeks since Regal made his AEW debut at the 2022 Revolution PPV to slap some sense into his charges and bring the two bloody, war-torn wrestling veterans together. Yet, Moxley and Danielson have already shown to be a well-oiled machine, mowing down any and all opposition that stands in their way with brutal efficiency.

Last night's Dynamite episode was no different, with Moxley and Danielson taking on the struggling team of the Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman, Jr. & Griff Garrison), who have been on a slippery slope since their corner cheerleader Julia Hart was misted in the eye weeks ago by the sinister Malakai Black. The ultra-violent duo wasted no time in extending the Blonds' woes, beating them down with vicious stomps and crossfaces before cinching in stereo submissions for the victory. Moxley would take the time afterwards to not only praise his partner, but his mentor Regal as well, citing the British wrestling legend as "the only man whose opinion I EVER cared about" and whose approval is considered by Moxley as "a mark of excellence, a badge of honor...that Blackpool Badge of Honor" earned through blood and pain.

He would then lay out a challenge to anyone wanting to face him, Danielson and Regal, but also placed emphasis on those looking to align themselves with the trio, saying that "if you want a 'badge of honor' from the Blackpool Combat Club, there's only one way to get it...the hard way." Located in the Lancashire county of England, Blackpool is a town where Regal has been billed from for the majority of his tenured wrestling career. There, he spent many of his formative years fighting at Blackpool's beach-side carnivals and cultivating the wrestling skills that would take him all around Great Britain and Europe to WCW, WWE and beyond.

Blackpool is a town that holds a great deal of history and sentiment for Regal, so it should come as little surprise to longtime wrestling fans why Moxley would use it as the name for the triumvirate of technical violence headed up by Regal. It solidifies Moxley and Danielson as a new force in AEW's full-to-bursting tag team division, and with the BCC's mission statement of cultivating the next generation of professional wrestlers in mind, a new faction on the scene opens up several possibilities concerning the crop of young, raw and underutilized talent on the AEW roster.
