Jon Bernthal got reimagined as another Marvel superhero through X-Men fan art. Bernthal is known for playing the Punisher in Netflix's Marvel shows, but the fan art imagined him as the deadly Wolverine instead.

The X-Men image came from Stuart Cooper, a concept artist (@sc_concept_artist) who also posts arts/fan castings for characters such as Namor, She-Hulk, Magneto, Storm, Rogue, Silver Surfer, and Cyclops. The artwork looks great and most combine the facial features of real-life actors/actresses with those of famous superheroes.

Cooper does a good job explaining why he picked Bernthal as his choice for Wolverine while also acknowledging the actor's incredible performance as Frank Castle/The Punisher, which has been received exceptionally well by many fans. The character requires a certain level of depth that Bernthal captures in his performance. Cooper's reasons for picking Bernthal include the actor's physical stature, ability to put on muscle, rugged look, history of gritty roles, facial features, hair color, and ability to command the scene with his acting ability. Had the actor not have been cast as the Punisher, Wolverine would've been a good choice for him. Most of his characters are somebody who many don't want to mess with, so Wolverine would be the perfect fit.

Bernthal's tough-guy roles include Shane Walsh in AMC's The Walking Dead and Johnny Soprano in The Many Saints of Newark. As far as the MCU goes, Bernthal was last seen in season 2 of The Punisher. The actor has since expressed that he would have no problem coming back into the role if requested, but other than that it's been quiet when it comes to the future of The Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. It's been indicated that those shows are no longer considered canon in the MCU, so many fans are unsure if they will come back at all.

It would be a huge disservice to the fans if these small-screen characters never came back, as there were plenty of references that showed they existed in the same world as the Avengers. There's also plenty of room for them to make an entrance in projects involving already existing heroes. The casting was on point, so it would be a waste if fans never get to see this happen.

The X-Men films are available to stream on Disney Plus Canada.
