John Wick is getting a prequel series that will follow the world of assassins in the hidden organization established during the three movies. The series will be titled The Continental, which is the name of the hotel safe haven for assassins and hitmen in the world of John Wick.

The Continental was a long-rumored project before getting its official green light. The show will be a limited television series based on the John Wick movies, serving as the first spin-off project. The show will be set many years before the first John Wick film, when Keanu Reeves' eponymous character may actually be a young kid.

So instead, Winston Scott will be serving as the main character, with a much younger actor playing the part. Deadline reports the lead role of The Continental was cast and the showrunners picked Colin Woodell to star as the protagonist. Woodell is known for roles such as The Flight Attendant, The Call of the Wild, and Unfriended: Dark Web. The series will be brought to fans by Lionsgate and is slated to air on Starz. The series consists of three 90-minute episodes and also stars Mel Gibson. As of now, it's reported that Reeves will not be making an appearance, fans should keep an open mind for a potential cameo.

John-Wick-4-3

For those who don't know, Winston Scott is much older in the John Wick films and he serves as the manager of The Continental. He rose to power and has a lot of influence, so it would make for a compelling story to see how the character went from where he was to where he is now. The older version of Winston Scott in the John Wick films is portrayed by Ian McShane.

The John Wick series is a very great example of action done well. The movies are good at orchestrating fight scenes and displaying brutality, all while having a story that drives the plot forward as fans get to follow the famed and feared assassin.

John Wick 3 was the recent release that made sure to keep the action going. The third film added more stars to the mix while also upping the choreography. Each movie gets bigger and bigger when it comes to story development, locations, and fight scenes. As the budget increases, so does its fan base and, of course, so does its quality. So, fans are excited to see what John Wick 4 has in store.

John Wick 4 is slated for May 27, 2022, theatrical release.
