J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter book series, has revealed her favorite Mario Kart character. The author took to Twitter to give a fan a few interesting details about herself, revealing that she always chooses Yoshi when playing Nintendo's cart racing game.

Rowling revealed her Mario Kart preferences alongside a few other small facts about herself, including that she got a tattoo last year, though not a Harry Potter-themed one, and that she's currently re-reading Catch-22. Rowling is an icon for many young readers, with Harry Potter becoming one of the most popular franchises of all time. A Harry Potter RPG is rumored to be in the works, but nothing has been confirmed.

As far as Mario Kart racers go, Yoshi isn't a very controversial pick. Yoshi is fairly well balanced and instantly recognizable to most Mario fans. Of course, Mario Kart is one of Nintendo's best franchises, and it makes sense that even celebrities like J.K. Rowling make time to spend with it.

Harry Potter hasn't had the best luck with video games in the past few years, though maybe that will change. For now, at least fans of the franchise will have more insight into the series creator's video game tastes, as they wait for Warner Bros to announce something.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available now for Nintendo Switch.
