Jeffrey Wright discussed and teased a great performance from Robert Pattinson in the upcoming film The Batman, which will be directed by Matt Reeves. The film will introduce a new incarnation of the Dark Knight unconnected to the version played by Ben Affleck in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

This Batman film will follow the caped crusader's first few years as a crime fighter. This means Bruce Wayne/Batman will be much more brutal, aggressive, and angry during his fight scenes. Pattinson looked the part in the trailer for The Batman when he swung on an assailant and didn't let up until his enemy was motionless on the ground. The film looks to be a very dark and gritty film, especially when one looks at the inspiration for the Riddler.

Wright plays Commissioner Gordon in the film, and he recently shared his personal interpretation of Pattinson's portrayal of Batman. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wright said, "Robert is gonna do his thing, and we were working within a Matt Reeves vision, so you know, Robert is doing what Robert does and it's gonna be pretty badass I think... I loved working with him, I love his take and his energy and the way that he kind of brought different levels to different parts of the story... And we work off of one another." It's good to hear that both actors will have good chemistry on camera in the upcoming film.

Wright is having a very successful career with projects such as What If...?, HBO's sci-fi series Westworld, and now The Batman. The actor's talent is now becoming more appreciated and accessible as he takes on roles in multiple franchises. Hopefully, fans get to see more of Wright's Gordon and a potential Batgirl that comes later in this telling of the Dark Knight's story.

Pattinson wasn't the clear first choice for many fans, but he looks to be the best option following the incredible portrayal by Affleck. The fight scenes with Afflecks's Batman were by far the most accurate out of all the live-action films involving the Caped Crusader.

Here's to hoping that there won't be another Batman reboot anytime soon. It would be nice to have a world where both Pattinson and Affleck are able to play their own version of Batman without having their stories confuse fans. Reports have said that Reeves wants his film to stand alone, so here's hoping it stays that way.

The Batman is available on March 4th, 2022.
