It's been quite a while since we last received news in regards to Frontier Developments' forthcoming park simulator Jurassic World Evolution after it was announced at gamescom 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now, the studio has shared a some fresh information about the title, as it has tapped the Academy Award-nominated actor Jeff Goldblum to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm for the new game.

As seen in the brief video below, Goldblum teases his role in Jurassic World Evolution by stating, "I'm going to be with you the whole game, as Dr. Ian Malcolm – that's the character that I play in those Jurassic Park movies." The actor goes on to give his presence in the title his personal stamp of approval, saying, "I highly recommend it. It gets 10 Goldblums out of a possible 10 Goldblums – that's my highest rating."

Although Goldblum doesn't completely let on as to how his reprisal of the Dr. Ian Malcolm role will fit into Jurassic World Evolution, Frontier Development's description of the video states that the character "guides" players throughout the game. With this being the case, it's highly likely that the actor lends his vocal talents as a narrator for the forthcoming title's in-game activities by becoming the voice that explains its mechanics, much like how Game of Thrones' Sean Bean plays the role of Civilization 6's narrator.

All things acknowledged, Jeff Goldblum's inclusion in Jurassic World Evolution as Dr. Ian Malcolm will surely please diehard Jurassic Park fans, as the character is generally favored as one of the franchise's most popular figures. What's more is that considering how Malcolm has seen how things can quickly go awry when trying to wrangle dinosaurs as a part of a theme park attraction, the character should offer a steady hand when guiding players along in their decision making in the game.

Jurassic World Evolution is set to release in summer 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
