Apple TV Plus' new season of one of its premier shows, See, has got its first trailer for its upcoming second season. See stars Jason Momoa as the lead character, Baba Voss, a leader of a tribe that lives in a world where most of its population was wiped out and those who are left no longer have the ability to see.

See tells a story in a world where most of the human population was wiped out, with 2 million people left alive who have adapted to their ancestors' ways of living without sight. Baba Voss marries Princess Maghra, a woman who comes to Voss's tribe looking for shelter. Unable to father children, Baba Voss adopts the woman's children because she is pregnant when they first meet.

Apple TV Plus is looking to bring in heavy hitters. The second season follows up from where the first one ends, bringing in Dave Bautista as the show's antagonist. Bautista will face off against Momoa, as teased in the See season 2 trailer. Those with the ability of sight are considered different and ostracized. The true father of the kids that Voss adopted was someone with the ability to see, which is why he was on the run.

See is set in an interesting world. Imagining a place where people have learned to all individually get by without sight is something hard to conceive of in today's current climate. It's also worth noting the lack of technology in the show. With phones, video games, social media, and other technology; one may wonder how well people would do in a world where people use their environment and the stars to figure out where they're going.

With See, Momoa appears to be taking another shot a television by leading another series following the mixed Frontier, which had a lot of promise but some of the story points fell through without delivering what fans were looking for. The acting was very well done but some of the characters met an early end, some plot points were dragged on, and one of the most important characters was killed offscreen. Momoa's acting talent and ability to shoot fight scenes, fortunately, carries over to See, so here's hoping the series gets its just due.

Of course, both Momoa and Bautista are known for their superhero roles as Aquaman and Drax the Destroyer, respectively. So while their confrontation in See season 2 is hardly the Marvel vs. DC showdown fans might like to see, it certainly promises to be entertaining.

See season 2 will be available on Apple TV Plus on August 27, 2021.
