With the theatrical release of Halloween Kills only a few days away, Jamie Lee Curtis arrived at the franchise's latest premiere dressed as an iconic horror character played by someone near and dear to her.

The Halloween Kills premiere was arranged as a costume party, encouraging the attendees to dress up in their best Halloween outfits. Some stars took a traditional costume approach, but Curtis took the chance to show off a costume that pays tribute to a very special person in her life: her mother.

Curtis arrived at the premiere dressed as Marion Crane, a focal character in Alfred Hitchcock's iconic horror film, Psycho. In Hitchcock's classic, Crane was played by Curtis' mother, Janet Leigh. Adorned in a pale blue dress and sporting the signature '60s hairstyle Leigh rocked in Psycho, Curtis completes the look with a black handbag and a bloodied shower curtain draped over her wrist. While discussing her look, Curtis revealed that she is actually dressed as Scarlett Johansson, who played Curtis' mother in the 2012 biopic Hitchcock. Curtis went on to explain that because the original Psycho film was done in black and white, they never knew what color Leigh's dress actually was. Thanks to the Hitchcock movie, Curtis said that people now know Leigh's dress was a pale blue, making Curtis' own dress the proper choice.

Curtis went on to discuss her added components to perfect the look. "I was worried you would see this and just think I looked like a '50s housewife. So I thought, you know, maybe I need a little bloody shower curtain," she explained to Entertainment Tonight. The bloodied shower curtain references one of Psycho's most famous scenes. Leigh's character attempts to take a shower in the eerie Bates Motel before she is ultimately killed by Norman Bates, who is dressed as his mother.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Curtis has become a famous figure both in and outside the horror genre. Curtis is known for her role as Laurie Strode, the sister of Michael Myers in the Halloween franchise. She has played the role of Strode since 1978 in the first Halloween installment. The role went on to catapult Curtis to receive a range of roles, including her participation in Trading Places, Perfect, Freaky Friday, and many others. Curtis will reprise her role as Strode in Halloween Kills and is expected to play the role again in the next installment, Halloween Ends. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Halloween Kills was delayed for a year, therefore delaying the production of Halloween Ends as well.

With the delays brought upon by the pandemic, some worry that Halloween Kills won't live up to their expectations. Because Halloween Kills will be followed by Halloween Ends, it doesn't seem Strode will be able to put an end to Michael Myers' torment just yet, but as the other installments of the Halloween franchise have shown, Strode will do everything in her power to keep Myers from wrecking even more havoc. The cat and mouse game between these (former?) siblings will be more than enough to entertain fans of the Halloween franchise.

Halloween Kills is now available in theaters and on Peacock.
