Another day, another official information dump regarding a high-profile project conducted entirely via social media. If there's one thing director James Gunn can claim as a constant in his movies and other endeavors, it's probably using his brother Sean in some way. Ok, so there are definitely more than 1. The other is an impressive online presence, and Gunn appears to be keeping that tradition alive with the latest Peacemaker news.

Gunn recently took to Twitter to answer more fan questions, which makes it sound like he started a formal Q&A session rather than what he actually did, which was just constantly fire back casual replies to random tweets every time he logs on. One particular query involved the possibility of post-credit scenes in his upcoming Peacemaker series starring John Cena. Naturally, as is in his nature, Gunn dutifully addressed the issue in 280 characters or fewer.

According to Gunn, he and his team added in a scene for every episode, and there appear to be ulterior motives behind it rather than just following the trend that Marvel has doomed the entire moviegoing public to suffer for eternity. When a fan asked if Peacemaker would have any end-credit scenes, Gunn replied, "Every episode. It’s my way to give you guys a little something special for watching the credits of our hardworking crew." That's right, he deviously crafted a sneaky scene to trick audiences into appreciating the genuine effort that goes into making TV shows. What a rogue.

With Peacemaker's premiere slowly approaching, fans are getting more and more excited for the upcoming spinoff to Gunn's fantastic 2021 film The Suicide Squad. While the regular movie itself seemed to leave the fate of Cena's unhinged character of the same name (Peacemaker, not The Suicide Squad. That would be weird, yet not entirely out of character for Gunn.) sort of unclear, it was revealed at the end that he had survived. Funnily enough, that reveal took place in a post-credits scene, so things are already coming full-circle.

It seems as though Gunn and the rest of the crew are still playing coy about when exactly Peacemaker will take place. There appear to be a number of flashbacks, but it's unclear whether that means the whole show will be set in the character's past or if those points will be the exception rather than the rule. The posr-credits scene in The Suicide Squad showed that Peacemaker survived the movie, so perhaps there will be at least a few scenes set in the present, but it's still unknown whether that will be the primary time frame.

Either way, the wait for Peacemaker is slowly ticking away, and fans only have a little while longer to hold out until its premiere on HBO Max. Plus, fans will get to enjoy 3 whole Peacemaker episodes on premiere day. Will it get great viewership numbers? Possibly. Will it be good? Probably. Will it be weird? Most definitely.

Peacemaker will begin airing on January 13th, 2022, on HBO Max.
