James Gunn's The Suicide Squad introduced several new characters to the DC Extended Universe, one of whom was Nathan Fillion's The Detachable Kid (T.D.K.). Now, Gunn has taken to social media to offer fans a humourous behind-the-scenes glimpse of Fillion on the set of the DC film.

Loosely based on the DC Comics character named Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, The Suicide Squad's T.D.K. also had the ability to detach his limbs and use them as weapons. However, Fillion's character had the added ability to telekinetically control his detached limbs, allowing him to combat enemies from a safe distance.

Spoiler Alert: While The Suicide Squad's Detachable Kid was one of several Belle Reve prisoners to be recruited as part of Task Force X, it turned out that his group was dropped off on a beach in Corto Maltese as a means of distracting the island nation's military so a second team could enter the country unnoticed. As a result, T.D.K. and his cohorts are mercilessly wiped out, with the exception of Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flag and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. While the beach scene didn't end well for Fillion's character, the actor appeared to have the time of his life while filming The Suicide Squad, as a new behind-the-scenes video from Gunn shows. In the video, shared by Gunn on Twitter, Fillion can be seen in full costume dancing ballet-syle as Gunn is heard laughing in the background.

What adds to the humourous video is the deadpan look on Fillion's face as he leaps around set. Covered in fake blood and blue tights to replace his limbs in post-production, Fillion's dancing prompts someone who cannot be seen to compare the actor to a cat. As an added bonus, The Suicide Squad set video also gives fans another behind-the-scenes glimpse at the stage used to bring the aforementioned beach massacre to life.

Fans who enjoyed Fillion as T.D.K. may not have to feel sorrow over the character's demise. During a Twitter Q&A with Gunn, the filmmaker implied T.D.K. survived by pointing out that his life signs on Amanda Waller's monitor did not list him as deceased.

At this time, Gunn has the Peacemaker spin-off series in the can and an unknown DC project in the works. So, perhaps Fillion's T.D.K. is being set up for another appearance, one that will hopefully be less bloody for him.

The Suicide Squad will be released on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD on October 26, 2021.
