James Gunn, filmmaker and recently anointed co-head of DC studios, may have just added another comic book character to the DCEU. Gunn tweeted a single photo of the DC character Mr. Terrific from the cover of JSA #76.

Ever since Gunn was appointed co-head of DC's filmmaking division, along with Peter Safran, the filmmaker has been engaging with his fanbase through social media. Gunn was already known for his active social media presence, from cracking jokes to feuds with right-wing extremists. Now that he's holding the reins at DC Studios, Gunn has spent the last week answering questions from fans and asking them which DC characters they want to see in the DCEU.

The image Gunn tweeted out is from the cover of JSA #76 and was drawn by the legendary comic book artist Alex Ross, who is known for such influential comics as Kingdom Come and Marvels. Gunn has yet to confirm whether Mr. Terrific will appear in any upcoming DC projects, but as one of the heads of DC studios, it seems more than likely that fans will see this character pop up soon. Perhaps fans haven't seen the last of The Justice Society.

In the comics, Mr. Terrific, AKA Michael Holt, is the third-smartest man in the world and a brilliant inventor. While Holt is the second DC character to call himself Mister Terrific, he is also the most commonly known. He has no superpowers, but Holt uses floating robotic spheres called T-Spheres. These high-tech spheres, which only respond to his vocal and mental commands, can project holographic images, create laser grids, serve as cameras, and allow him to fly. He also uses them as his primary weapons since they can self-destruct and generate powerful electrical charges.

Mr. Terrific also wears a molecular-bonded mask called a T-Mask that allows him to be invisible to all forms of electronic detection. He is usually depicted as a member of the Justice Society, a superhero team who most recently appeared in Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam. However, Mr. Terrific was not featured in that film.

Gunn is known for his ability to successfully adapt some of the most obscure and unlikely heroes on the big screen for both Marvel and DC. This includes his two (soon to be three) Guardians of the Galaxy films for Marvel Studios and his DCEU sequel The Suicide Squad, which led Gunn to create the even more unlikely yet popular HBO Max series, Peacemaker.
