In a tweet, a fan asked if any of the animated DC shows like Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice inspired Gunn when planning out the future of the DCU. Although Gunn did not specify which shows would inspire the DCU, he did reply with an affirmative, "Definitely."

Gunn is known to be receptive to fans. He frequently responds to their queries on his social media and occasionally even responds to negative comments. Gunn recently commented on the hate he's received since taking over at DC Studios and explained that though it isn't a great feeling, he's more concerned about providing a positive future for the DCU.

While Gunn didn't comment on what shows would inspire his layout of the DCU, it's easy to see why fans would ask about shows like Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice. Warner Bros. and Amazon may be developing new DC animated content, but Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice were once flagship projects in DC's animated arsenal.

Both shows focus on the wider DC universe and adapt several characters with various origins. Both shows added their twists to the mythology of the DC Universe. Unfortunately, Justice League Unlimited will soon be removed from HBO Max as part of a tax write-off incentive, so there's little time to get reacquainted with the series on the platform.
