On a recent social media thread, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn answered fans' questions about his directing process, and while some answers were strictly about the process of filming and creating scores, others had questions about what the director does to combat diva stricken actors. Gunn didn't hold back when discussing his no-tolerance policy for that kind of behavior on set.

Fans love when directors, actors, and writers take to Twitter to answer some of their most burning questions, especially when a film such as Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is just around the corner. Fans just want any kind of scoop they can get. At first, Twitter user and composer Andrew Gordon Macpherson started off with a question on how Gunn deals with a scene that isn't working solely because the song and editing don't mix quite right.

Gunn went on to tell Macpherson, "Many times scenes are very tonally specific to themselves, so it makes it difficult to find a good temp. That doesn't mean there's a problem with the scene. A good composer can smooth all that out." As the questions keep rolling in, fans start to get a deeper dive into what really irritates Gunn when it comes to film industry. "Directing is a privilege - we are so lucky to do it & there are so many talented people who want to do it. Seeing directors who aren't grateful for that opportunity & respectful towards the talent & hard work of those around them pisses me off to no end."

As Gunn continues to go on about his own work, another user asked how Gunn approaches an actor who isn't working out for any number of reasons such as their process, temperament, or lack of chemistry. "If it's their temperament & it's serious, I'll immediately recast. Life's too short for assholes," Gunn said. "Same if they're repeatedly very late, which I hate, or unprepared. I have a long list of actors, A-list & otherwise, I'll never work with for these reasons..."

While obviously, Gunn won't reveal those actors he will never work with, Twitter user Kent Driscoll stated, "I bet @JohnCena is on time. Seems like that kind of guy." Gunn responded by giving a shout-out to the Peacemaker star, saying, "Yes. @JohnCena is among the best people to work with - always prepared & on time & kind to everyone. He & many of my regulars are among the actors I die to work with. I want to shout out to them here but [the] paucity of characters means I'd be leaving many out."

While many fans would love to know who these problem actors are, Gunn is way too professional for that kind of theatrics. Through this Q&A session, it's safe to say Gunn isn't thinking about those people who he would never work with. What is more important to the director is the process of filmmaking and bringing his story and vision to life, and making sure he is bringing all he can for the fans who care about it the most.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 5, 2023.
