The Critics Choice Awards set the stage for a heartwarming moment when directors James Cameron and S.S. Rajamouli met. During the meeting, Cameron praised the Indian filmmaker for his work on the critically acclaimed RRR.Both RRR, currently available on Netflix, and Avatar: The Way of Water competed for the Best Picture award at the event, although it was Daniels' Everything Everywhere All at Once that claimed such honors. Nevertheless, for Rajamouli, it was an unforgettable night after meeting one of his idols, whose words of approval mean “more than an award” to him.RELATED: The Oscars: Are Sci-Fi Movies Gaining More Prestige? While Rajamouli posted a couple of pictures of the encounter on his personal Twitter account, a few cameras captured the entire exchange. LetsCinema shared the complete video where Cameron can be seen saying how he watched RRR two times, one for himself and another after convincing his wife, Suzy Amis, that RRR was a 2022 must-watch film. Cameron throws compliments at Rajamouli nonstop, praising everything from the story, themes, and the music composed by M. M. Keeravani for the movie. On the other hand, Rajamouli's face is worth a thousand words.

In his tweet, Rajamouli said the conversation lasted a whole 10 minutes. For many, the most exciting prospect will be Cameron extending Rajamouli an invitation to come and make a movie in America. If that wasn’t enough, just a few nights before, Rajamouli had met another filmmaking legend, Steven Spielberg, whose fictionalized life story The Fabelmans was also in the running for Best Picture.

Rajamouli's trip to the United States was part of the promotional efforts to land RRR the Best Picture nomination at the Oscars. Although the movie missed out on that and being India's pick for International Feature Film, “Naatu Naatu” was recognized with a nod for Best Original Song. Throughout his career, Rajamouli has made some of India's most successful movies, including Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, also available for streaming.

Currently, Rajamouli is actively working on an RRR sequel that continues developing his made-up tales of Indian history with stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan returning for another round of spectacular action and plenty of brotherly love.

RRR is currently available on Netflix.
