The boxing coach of the YouTube sensation, Jake Paul, was found at a local hospital with gunshot wounds after being shot and robbed. Paul's trainer, BJ Flores, was in his corner throughout his match against Tommy Fury last month. Unfortunately, the YouTube star suffered his first loss in his UFC career against Fury despite giving him a tough fight. Flores went abroad after the match, and little did he know that his long-awaited vacation was going to turn into a nightmare.Flores stood by Paul throughout every stage of his boxing career, whether he was in the middle of a weight dispute against KSI or was winning back-to-back fights. After being beside Paul for a long time, the coach visited Medellin, Columbia. This is the place where the tragic incident took place when he was waiting for the green light at a traffic signal inside his car. He saw two motorcycle drivers approach his car, and they threatened him to get out. After that moment, things went sideways for him when one of them pointed a gun at him and forced him out of his car.RELATED: KSI Reveals What He Plans to Do After the Jake Paul ShowdownThe assailants pointed the gun at his head, asking him to give them the keys to his car as well as everything else he had with him, such as his phone, watch, and any amount of cash he was carrying. Before becoming the professional boxing coach of Paul and helping him sort out his feuds, Flores was a former cruiserweight world champion, so his boxing instincts kicked in, and he was able to move the guy who held the gun at his head. However, the assailant with the gun pulled the trigger in the heat of the moment and shot Flores in the leg. After suffering the gunshot wound, he was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The 44-year-old UFC coach shared his near-death experience on his official Twitter account, "The pistol was right there. He yelled at me to give my wallet and my watch, everything. We were definitely targeted. They couldn’t have possibly seen my watch, so we were definitely targeted. It is what it is. I’m still alive. Everything’s good. I’m happy. The doctors came in and told me we’ve got surgery coming up now. Stay safe out there.”

Flores thinks that he nearly escaped death this time and confirmed that the doctors were able to remove the bullet. He thanked his well-wishers and told everyone to be safe in the streets. Paul reacted to the situation by reposting the news on his official social media and wishing his coach a speedy recovery. The 26-year-old will be starting training with his coach again after his coach heals fully from the wounds. Previously, Jake donated a portion of his fight earnings to other fighters, and it remains to be seen if he will provide any financial help for his coach as well.
