A new Jak and Daxter bundle has appeared in the PlayStation Store and could contain the high-definition versions of the games that were promised earlier this year.

The Jak and Daxter bundle does not seem to appear in any version of the PlayStation Store besides the mobile one, where it can be seen after navigating to the games section from the front page. However, clicking on the bundle takes you to the page for the first game in the series, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, and not the bundle itself. Because of this, there isn't much information, which also means there currently isn't a listed price.

This could have been an oversight on PlayStation's part. The bundle may not be ready for listing but may still have made it to the site.

What can be gleaned from the artwork, though, is the bundle will include the main trilogy, plus Jak X: Combat Racing. This was somewhat teased earlier this year when PlayStation announced that all four titles would release for PS4 with 1080p up-rendering. The trailer that accompanied the announcement indicated a 2017 release date, but there hasn't been any sign of the remasters since. As December is close at hand, it seems likely PlayStation is gearing up to release the games before the end of the year and the bundle may be a part of that release.

Those who did not partake in the first and second generation of PlayStation consoles may have missed this fantastic series. The original game was a lovely, light-hearted platformer, with lots of missions, puzzles, and minigames. The next two titles were a touch more mature and introduced new powers, racing elements, and customized weaponry. The final installment was Jax X: Combat Racing, which expanded on the racing aspects seen in Jak 3. One interesting thing to note is that the series was developed by Naughty Dog, the studio that is now synonymous with triple-A titles like Uncharted and The Last of Us.

We expect more information on the Jak and Daxter bundle will be made available in the coming weeks, likely in the form of an official announcement from Sony. Until then, the bundle will just have to sit idly in the PlayStation store, taunting us.
