After a long wait for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and an even longer wait for the Pro Skater franchise to get its groove back, players finally have a chance to shred, ollie, and grind in the remake. One of the project's biggest supporters was actor Jack Black who was not only heavily involved in the marketing but is even a playable within the game. Now that the remake is out, Black is sharing his thoughts and feelings on his in-game character.

The seven-minute video which goes into the making of the character and Black's reaction to it was uploaded to the actor's dedicated YouTube gaming channel. There is no denying the charm in seeing how Officer Dick comes to life through Black's acting, but the real gem of the video is its last two minutes. It is in the tail end of the video that Black reacts not only to the character, but just being able to be in a Pro Skater game.

After the behind-the-scenes look, Black gets right into playing as the character that bears his face and uses his voice. As Black demonstrates his skills, he starts to talk about how he became Officer Dick. At some point, developer Vicarious Visions offered Black a spot on the Pro Skater 1+2 roster and offered to pay him for the appearance. Black was quick to dismiss payment recalling "I don't want you to pay me nothing. Doing it for free. I love Tony Hawk Pro Skater, I love Tony Hawk." The actor considers the chance to be a playable skater "an honor" noting that if anybody told him in his 30s that he would be in the game in his 50s, he would never have believed it.

While the star of the video is Black's gameplay reaction, that doesn't mean viewers should overlook Black having a blast during his capture sessions. The actor shows off glimpses of how Vicarious Visions brought Officer Dick to life through facial and body capture technology. It's obvious that Black is having a good time in the process and would later call the opportunity to be in a Pro Skater game "like the cover of the Rolling Stone, in terms of video game accomplishments."

While Black brings the star power to the remake by playing Officer Dick, he was not the only playable character to get the scan-in treatment. With original Tony Hawk Pro Skater being over 20 years old, Vicarious Visions had to get creative. The developer confirmed that not only would all the original skaters return, but that their models would match their age in Pro Skater 1+2.

With Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 getting favorable reviews and great positive feedback, Black can be happy with his cameo. Black finished off the video following an unfortunate combo bail by saying "So fun, such an honor, such a trip, Tony Hawk, Jablinski" before signing off.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
