Xbox community guru Major Nelson is preparing for the next big convention, Gamescom 2019, which will have a major Xbox presence. Nelson has confirmed that not only will Xbox be bringing 200 gaming stations to demo a broad range of Xbox One and PC games, but this year's Gamescom will also play host to the next Inside Xbox presentation. Gamescom 2019 will run from August 20 through August 24, with Inside Xbox airing August 19 at 8:00 am PT.

Inside Xbox is Microsoft's take on the increasingly popular online presentations publishers use to showcase upcoming game releases and related announcements. Sony's PS4 State of Play, the Nintendo Direct, and Google's new Stadia Connect are examples of this format. Inside Xbox has in the past been a monthly event, but Microsoft has since scaled the show back for use only at big events like E3 and now Gamescom.

What kinds of announcements Xbox fans should expect remains a matter of speculation, however. Unfortunately, Major Nelson wasn't willing to let slip any hints in his announcement. All he was willing to share is that viewers can expect "the latest news, games, accessories, and features." With Gamescom being Xbox's last major event prior to XO19 in November, its focus will likely be on what's to come going into the holiday season.

Specifically, Xbox will likely talk about its big upcoming games like Gears 5, which launches in September, and The Outer Worlds in October. There's also a chance that Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires 4 show up at the event, as news on the strategy games is expected either at Gamescom or XO19. More exciting is the possibility that Xbox will have more information to share on its next-gen console, Project Scarlett.

As for what Gamescom attendees can expect to find from Xbox at the event itself, several major games are planned to be featured on the showfloor. Xbox Game Studios titles including Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, Battletoads, Bleeding Edge, Gears 5, Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, and Minecraft Dungeons will be on-hand. Third-party titles including Borderlands 3, Doom Eternal, NBA 2K20, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also be playable.

Expect more information on Microsoft's plans for Gamescom 2019 and what will be shown during the next Inside Xbox event in the weeks to come.
