Inside the Backrooms is an indie-developed multiplayer horror game based on the CreepyPasta Backrooms universe. The game has taken the lore from those online stories and turned them into a tense and genuinely creepy survival horror-escape room experience still in Early Access on Steam and a bargain for horror fans.

Even if players aren't familiar with the works that inspired Inside the Backrooms, the game is arguably better going in blind. There are puzzles to solve while trying to find one's way out of the terrifying backroom offices that appear to have no end. Surviving the challenges, working together, and avoiding the entities of Inside the Backrooms are paramount to survival. It's immersive and, by conforming to the style of the horror genre, unforgiving. So can players save their game to make the experience less tense?

Is It Possible To Save In Inside The Backrooms?

Unfortunately, Inside the Backrooms doesn't allow players to save their game manually. The autosave feature kicks in when players enter the office after the second elevator. In proper survival horror fashion, users who die are sent back to the office to start the level over again.

However, as Inside the Backrooms is still in Early Access on Steam, fans have suggested that a save game system would be helpful. It wouldn't be impossible to imagine that the developers could implement a save game feature for the single-player mode or the host in multiplayer on low difficulty levels.

Can Players Revive In The Game?

Without a save system, players new to Inside the Backrooms will be grateful to know that the game does have a revival mechanic. After three encounters with an entity, players will enter a minigame that requires them to find a Revival Door.

To have another chance of continuing their game, the Revival Door mechanic is triggered when the player is in a ghostly Incorporeal Form. The Revival door is also known as the Luminous Door. The door is found by following the heartbeats, so players can find their way back to their bodies for another chance at the game.
