Players excited to start a new journey in Inkulinati will be told many things about their starting difficulty. Most of these are self-explanatory as players can assume what health does and how creature costs will impact the game. But quills are a resource without an immediate description.

Quills are potentially an important item in Inkulinati and getting more of them isn't always possible in every journey. They're used automatically, but players won't find out about their true power until they encounter a rather tragic moment in the game.

What Quills Do

Inkulinati Quill Resurrecting A Player
  • Quills bring the player back to life after losing a battle.
  • On use, quills return the Tiny Inkulinati to full health and reduce the boredom stacks of all beasts.

The game, even on its easiest difficulty, will likely kill new players several times during their first run. The completely overpowered final boss will usually wipe out any remaining lives for the talented gamers that make it this far during their first run.

These "lives" are represented by quills. When players lose a fight of any kind, even if their Tiny Inkulinati is not on the field, it will cost a quill to stay alive. Those without any quills will need to start over on their journey, keeping any prestige they collected. A quill will restore the Tiny Inkulinati to full health, assuming it lost any during the fight, and decrease the boredom of beasts. This can be handy for players who lost a fight with a few of their favorite beasts on the field.

Don't try to win every run of Inkulinati. Not only is it close to impossible to do without everything unlocked, but even if players do win, they won't be maximizing what they need to farm. Focus on gaining lots of prestige for the first several times playing the game. After that has been maxed out, then make the mental change to win.

Inkulinati is available now for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
