It won’t be long now until many a comic fan/gamer will be able to suit up as their favorite DC superhero and go toe-to-toe with some of the most recognizable faces in comic book history. There’s an unquestionable appeal about Injustice: Gods Among Us, and the gravity of its imminent release has definitely caught the attention of quite a few consumers.
To celebrate the forthcoming launch of this superhero beat ’em up, Warner Bros. Interactive have released a new trailer that displays some of the action that’ll be present in the final game.
The new trailer in question gives light to some of the story elements that’ll be appearing in Injustice: Gods Among Us, as well as some of the former allies that’ll be squaring off against one another. After a catastrophic event, the concept of good and evil have been skewed, leaving many heroes and villains to decide for themselves which side they’ll be aligning themselves with. Even past friendships don’t seem to count for much in this world — at least it sure didn’t appear as if Aqua Man thought twice about impaling The Flash with a trident.
While heroes may be chomping at the bit to off each other throughout the course of Injustice‘s story, there’s enough of them featured as playable combatants that a few of them can be “let go” without causing too much of a stink. We jest of course, but the sheer size of the roster is admirable thus far, and nobody has ruled out the possibility that there may still be room for even more DC characters to show up as unlockables.
A couple of new fighters were only confirmed just recently via a leaked screenshot, so there’s no telling who (or what) else may make it into the final game. Regardless, there are still four more fighters that’ll be arriving as downloadable content in the not-too-distant future that players can look forward to — all of which can be pre-purchased ahead of time with the Injustice: Gods Among Us season pass.
