Red Hood Injustice DLC Character

As with any fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us is only as good as its roster. Luckily, NetherRealm Studios continues to bolster Injustice's roster with more and more characters to help keep gamer interest up.

While fans are still reeling from the announcement of Martian Manhunter at EVO 2013, NetherRealm's Ed Boon is already teasing the game's next DLC character. And, according to Boon, this next addition will be a "big fan favorite request." Let the speculation begin.

With Martian Manhunter — one of the oft-requested characters for Injustice — now confirmed for the DC Comics fighting game, it's hard to predict what Boon means when he says "fan favorite." As well, we're curious to know whether the next fighter will be a hero or a villain.

Back in May, Boon posted an unofficial poll on Twitter asking fans what characters they would like to see as DLC. Coincidentally, Martian Manhunter was left off the survey, which put fans into a tailspin, but in retrospect that was likely because the character was already in development.

Two characters, however, who were very popular in the unofficial survey were the magician Zatanna and Batman villain Red Hood. Both are solid choices, and have unique traits to offer as a fighter, but signs seem to point towards Zatanna as the more likely candidate for the Injustice roster.

Zatanna Injustice DLC Character

That's because when Boon was holding the survey, he retweeted several fan requests for Zatanna more than any other character. Obviously, a series of retweets isn't an outright omission that Zatanna is the sixth DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but it increases her likelihood over Red Hood's.

At the same time, there's no guarantee that either of those characters will make the cut as the sixth DLC character. Yes, they might have their own followings, but when Boon uses the word "big fan favorite" you expect someone...big; someone like Darkseid for example — an iconic villain from the DC Comics universe.

We shouldn't be too greedy, though, as most expected the DLC additions to cap off at four based on the Injustice Season Pass. NetherRealm delivered their four promised characters — Lobo, Batgirl, General Zod, and Scorpion — but they're apparently not done. Hopefully we'll find out more about this sixth DLC character soon.

Who do you hope NetherRealm adds to the Injustice: Gods Among Us roster? If you had to choose between Zatanna and Red Hood, who would it be?
