There's not much longer to wait until NetherRealm Studios' forthcoming fighting game Injustice 2 goes live on its release date, so it's quite likely that plenty of fans of the franchise are wondering exactly how much storage space will be required to install the DC Comics-inspired title on their systems. As it happens, the file size for the Xbox One version of the release has shown up on the Xbox Marketplace, showing that it will weigh in at approximately 26.82 GB.

Compared to lots of other titles on the market, Injustice 2's file size for Xbox One is relatively small, as there have been a plethora of Triple-A games that have required upwards of 40 GB or more just for the base materials. For instance, The Coalition's 2016 release of Gears of War 4 needed about 55 GB of data to be installed on the Xbox One, so when one puts NetherRealm Studios' fighting title next to the third-person shooter, the former's file size looks mighty small by comparison.

While Injustice 2's Xbox One file size is now known, there's no telling how much the memory the game will require PlayStation 4 fans to use, as a quick check on the PlayStation Store yields no results. Nevertheless, it's highly possible that the two platforms will have file sizes that are roughly similar, with one being slightly bigger or smaller than the other due to the hardware of the consoles being different.

No matter what the file sizes for Injustice 2's respective versions are, it's safe to say that fans can't wait to get their hands on a copy of the forthcoming fighting game in order to pit some of the DC Universe's most iconic and obscure characters against one another in a battle for supremacy and bragging rights. With that being the case, it won't be long from now until we learn whether or not Injustice 2 lives up to its status as being one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2017.

Injustice 2 is slated to release on May 16, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
