Injustice 2 Wonder Woman Event Starts Tomorrow

Injustice 2 is off to a strong start with positive reviews and tons of sales, and it looks like NetherRealm wants to keep the fighting game's hype alive by jumping straight into some big tie-in events. A Wonder Woman themed challenge arrives in the game starting Monday, May 29 and players can complete the Multiverse tasks for a chance to unlock Wonder Woman gear inspired by the new movie starring Gal Gadot.

The event was first teased at a special Injustice 2 charity event live stream. The Multiverse challenge will arrive tomorrow (May 29) and be available through June 5, during which time players  can complete the special missions for a chance to unlock Wonder Woman themed gear. At this point, we're not sure if the gear will be purely aesthetic or if it will have stat boosts, as well.

After the event, the gear can still be acquired through the luck of the draw in Mother Boxes, but acquiring it during the upcoming week is much more of a sure thing.

Here's a look at the latest teaser from the official Injustice 2 twitter account...

The special occasion is being teased as the multiverse event 'to end all wars,' which ties into the film's tagline. Once the Wonder Woman movie hype dies down, it will be interesting to see where NetherRealm takes its inspiration for events from. It would be very cool if some of the multiverse events could tie-in to the current comic book storylines. We'd definitely love to see a "The Button" event that could introduce some Watchmen characters or skins to the game. Here's hoping...

Injustice 2 mobile will also receive a Wonder Woman event, but that one doesn't launch until May 30. During the mobile event, players will be able to unlock two new characters based on the film.

Will you be participating in the Injustice 2 Wonder Woman Multiverse event during the upcoming week? Let us know in the comments.

Injustice 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
