With The Atom and Enchantress now available, Injustice 2 players have been eagerly awaiting the final character(s) for Fighter Pack 3, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As he's known to do, creative director Ed Boon has been working the fan base over on his Twitter account, posting plenty of teasers and images of TMNT. Ahead of a planned Watchtower live stream, the final reveal for the Heroes in a Half Shell has finally arrived.

Considering that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is actually a four-in-one character, many fans wondered how that would translate to the traditional 1v1 nature of Injustice 2. The trailer shows off plenty of gameplay, revealing that players control one of the Turtles during the match and can seemingly call in an assist from one of the other three – similar to a Marvel vs Capcom-styled fighter. While it's strongly implied that players will likely select which one of the turtles to play as on the character select screen, the super move makes use of all four, with each doing damage to the enemy with their signature weapons before shouting "Shell Shock!" and smashing their shells into the airborne opponent.

Based on the footage, NetherRealm has really managed to nail the spirit of the Turtles as well, capturing each of their personalities in their intro and outro segments, like Mikey's party-going personality, Donatello's interest in technology, Leonardo's dedication to training, or Raphael's temper. Longtime fans will no doubt enjoy the references to classic TMNT villains like Bebop, the use of skateboards, and of course – pizza.

With the Turtles set to release later this month, the question now becomes what's next for the popular comic-based fighter. Fans are still clinging on to hope that another Fighter Pack is on the way featuring the often rumored Spawn, though NetherRealm has yet to confirm or deny anything. Mortal Kombat X released only two Kombat Packs, though the second DLC was announced months after the first one had wrapped up, so it's entirely possible that NetherRealm could still create more content down the road.

Injustice 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will release on November 14, 2018 for PC.
