The latest trailer for Injustice 2, titled Shattered Alliance Part I, sheds some light on Superman's turn towards the dark side and his growing conflict with Batman. Lots of other heroes are featured in the trailer, which blends Injustice 2 gameplay and cinematics, but the main focus is on Superman and Batman.

Superman has become obsessed with stamping out every instance of crime on Earth and has turned into more of a tyrant than an American hero. To battle the overpowered Kryptonian, Batman is teaming up with a powerful roster of other DC heroes to take down the big man. More details about the conflict can be found in the Injustice 2 comic tie-in.

Here's a look at the Shattered Alliance trailer...

No new fighter are revealed in the trailer, but we do get a closer look at Supergirl, Cyborb, Robin, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and more. In true NetherRealm fashion, the impressive list of fighters still isn't fully confirmed and it is likely that fans will be in for more surprises between now and the May 16 release date.

The end of the trailer once again teases big DC villain Darkseid as the pre-order bonus character. This promotion is very similar to the Mortal Kombat X pre-order special that rewarded players with early access to Goro. It seems to be a new NetherRealm tradition that iconic bad guys are rewarded to shoppers who spend their money a little early.
