NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon takes to Twitter to ask fans which version of the Red Hood character they'd like to see add to the roster in Injustice 2.

As with all of NetherRealm Studios games, fans are incredibly eager to find out which characters have made that particular roster. While Injustice 2 was only revealed a short time ago, fans are eagerly anticipating any news surrounding more character reveals. NetherRealm Studios creative director, Ed Boon, has once again taken to Twitter but instead of his normal trolling ways, he is actually semi-revealing a new character coming to Injustice 2.

Instead of teasing fans with cryptic hints, as he is known to do, Boon has instead come out and asked the community which version of Red Hood they'd like the team to add to the growing Injustice 2 roster. This is the first time the studio has directly asked fans for their input, and right now players can vote in his Twitter poll for either version of the character: Joker or Jason Todd. At the time of this writing, the Jason Todd version of the character has a considerable lead.

Boon's tweet calls attention to the fact that the name Red Hood has been used by both the Joker and the former Robin, Jason Todd. While the Joker was playable in the 2013 game, the character was first known by the alias Red Hood in the comics until an accident with a vat of chemicals turned him into the Clown Prince of Crime that players are more than familiar with today – thanks in part to the Batman: Arkham games. Jason Todd's version of the Red Hood came later, after the character essentially returned from the grave during the events of Death in the Family comics arc.

With a projected Spring 2017 release, there are plenty of roster spots to be filled out in the Injustice 2 roster before release. With only a few confirmations so far such as Supergirl, Batman, and the recent reveals of Blue Beetle and Wonder Woman, fans should expect the announcements to increase the closer we get to launch. Unfortunately, NetherRealm Studios has not teased when fans can expect to see a new and official reveal as they typically do, although GamesCom is set to kick off next week in Cologne, Germany and fans could potentially see something there.

In the meantime, as the wait continues until the next official reveal from NetherRealm Studios, these are ten characters that we'd love to see added to the game, including the aforementioned Red Hood.

Which version of Red Hood would you like to see? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Injustice 2 is set to launch sometime in 2017, and is expected on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
