It has been about a week since NetherRealm Studios debuted Red Hood's gameplay and move set, and since then, Injustice 2 fans have been clamoring to find out when the occasional do-gooder and oft-antihero would be making his way into the DC Comics-inspired fighting game. Now, the time has finally come for the developer to announce his availability during the weekly Watchtower live stream for the title, revealing that the Jason Todd alter-ego will be joining the roster on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Before everyone pumps their fists in celebration, it's important to note that Red Hood will be coming first only to those who bought Injustice 2's Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Fighter pack, with those with the base game who simply want the character as a standalone having to wait until the following week to get him. Unfortunately, NetherRealm Studios failed to mention exactly how much he will be priced as a solo purchase.

In addition to unveiling Red Hood's debut in Injustice 2, NetherRealm Studios also used this week's Watchtower live stream to announce that multiverse centered around the character will be coming to the game for those who want to check him out before they purchase him to expand the roster. Interestingly enough, this method will be utilized for all of the other heroes and villains slated for DLC, with the likes of Starfire and Sub-Zero presumably getting the same treatment.

All things considered, the addition of Red Hood to Injustice 2 will definitely please plenty within the fighting game's fan base, as he has been a much-requested figure for the longest time. With NetherRealm Studios offering such a fine touch of fan service with the game's first Fighter pack, it will be interesting to see if the next wave of DLC incorporates other desired characters, such as Rorschach from Watchmen.

Injustice 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
