Injustice 2 may have only been released two weeks ago to widely positive reviews, but NetherRealm Studios is already hard at work on the upcoming plethora of DLC characters. Following Ed Boon's tease of Red Hood last week, the developer has now released a brand new clip that gives an extended glimpse into the move set of Jason Todd's alter ego and how he fares when pitted against various other DC characters.

NetherRealm recently shared a new Red Hood gameplay clip on the official Injustice 2 Twitter account, and it is an impressive two-minutes of rapid-fire gun-based moves from Batman's second protégé. Capable of hand-to-hand skirmishes as well as ranged battles, Red Hood's move set is focused on overwhelming opponents with his fast-paced offense and his arsenal of weapons, such as pistols, knives, bombs, as well as his martial arts skills.

With the ability to dish out considerable damage in various cool ways (such as stunning an opponent with a bomb mid-air before quickly unleashing a flurry of gunfire), Red Hood is looking like a more than worthy addition to the Injustice 2 character roster. Fans won't have to wait too long before Jason Todd is available to drop hell on the other DC characters as the gameplay clip ends by revealing a June release window for the first round of DLC, though a specific date has not been specified.

Red Hood isn't the only character fans can expect from Injustice 2's upcoming DLC pack, with the likes of Starfire and Sub-Zero awaiting to be unleashed upon the rest of the roster. Now that gameplay footage of Red Hood has been revealed, we can probably expect new gameplay clips for Starfire and Sub-Zero in the coming days. As far as other characters that may be arriving to Injustice 2, NetherRealms has remained tight-lipped on who is on the cards in the future. Having said that though, the game's creative director Ed Boon has hinted that other characters akin to Red Hood - such as those from Watchmen - could be coming soon.

Given how critically and commercially successful Injustice 2 has been already, the upcoming slate of character DLC looks to continue this run of momentum for the game. If the gameplay footage of Red Hood is anything to go by, there is still much to look forward to from NetherRealm's DC Comics-inspired fighting game.

Injustice 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
