Injustice 2 is about two months away from launch and the team at NetherRealm is slowly fleshing out the roster of fighters with a steady stream of hero and villain reveals. The latest Injustice 2 character confirmation arrives today with a new gameplay video showing off Firestorm's look and moveset.

Fans of both DC Comics and CW superhero shows are likely very familiar with this character and how his set of skills will play into the updated Injustice fighting system. Firestorm, The Nuclear Man, has a long list of powers that includes super strength, flight, and molecular manipulation. In short, he flies around and throws fire at bad guys. That just so happens to be the recipe for a very exciting Injustice fighter.

WWE wrestler Xavier Woods and the crew at UpUpDownDown sat down with some of the team behind Injustice 2 and ran through Firestorm's move set against Doctor Fate. The action starts around 7:40...

As expected, Firestorm looks like a strong contender for players who like to keep their distance and attack at range. He has a few close-up moves, but in general the character seems strongest after breaking away and streaming fire at the enemies from across the map.

Considering Firestorm's long and complicated history in the comics, multiple incarnations, and appearances in other media; there should be some fantastic material to mine for alternate costumes. Legends of Tomorrow and Flash fans would definitely be happy to see a skin based on his multiple appearances in the CW DC universe. Whatever the team at NetherRealm comes up with, we look forward to unlocking and checking out.
