While the Tamaranian princess Starfire was recently added to the roster of NetherRealm Studios' fighting game Injustice 2, fans have now turned their eyes toward the unveiling of the brawler's second Fighter Pack to learn who will be joining the cast. Thankfully, players won't have to wait much longer, as the developer has officially announced plans to reveal the contents of Fighter Pack 2 next week during gamescom 2017.

In order to tease out the reveal of the next round of DLC fighters for Injustice 2, NetherRealm Studios will reveal them during a special celebrity showdown at gamescom 2017 that will be a "fight to the death" between world-famous DJs Steve Aoki and Don Diablo. The two are going to go head-to-head on August 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM BST – which translates to 5:00 AM CT – and the event can be viewed through a live stream on the Twitch front page, as well as through the developer's official Twitch channel.

As one would expect, NetherRealm Studios didn't include any details regarding who could be added to Injustice 2's roster, but that hasn't stopped fans from speculating. As seen in the image above, a couple of the silhouettes potentially share clues as to the next characters coming through Fighter Pack 2, with the center figure on the left possibly being owned by Aquaman's arch-nemesis Black Manta, and the center shadow on the right likely being Mortal Kombat's Raiden.

Of course, including the silhouettes of the next characters to come to Injustice 2 through DLC could be a misdirect on behalf of NetherRealm Studios, as the developer's Creative Director Ed Boon is notorious for trolling his own fan base. Nevertheless, Boon told Game Rant several months ago that he wouldn't rule out Watchmen characters being added to the title at some point in the future, which points to the likes of Dr. Manhattan and Rorschach maybe being added.

All things considered, it's really anyone's guess at this point as to who will be the next three characters gearing up to do battle in Injustice 2. With the DC Universe having such a deep pool of heroes and villains from which to choose, and with fighters from NetherRealm Studios' previous games being possible too, only time will tell which faces we will see join the roster.

Injustice 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
