The fifth and final Shattered Alliances trailer for Injustice 2 arrived last week, providing more big picture story moments and introducing what appears to be the big bad in the campaign, Brainiac. Fans got a good idea of what the villain is all about, gameplay was surprisingly light, only hinting at what the character could do. With the game's release less than a month away, NetherRealm Studios quickly released a new gameplay-centric video of Brainiac and all of his special abilities.

The hyper intelligent alien appears to be a hybrid class fighter, able to perform grapple moves with his robotic arms along with being able to summon support with drones. Using his robotic arms, Brainiac is able to close distance with a slide or shoulder charge and perform a number of long range grab moves that would make Scorpion green with envy. The latest Injustice 2 trailer also shows off his ability to call in death beams or small drones to assist him while also featuring a brand new stage, which looks to be Brainiac's hideout.

The showstopper part to this trailer has to be his super move, which starts simply enough as Brainiac calls in four of his minions to subdue his enemy. At this point, his iconic skull ship appears through a darkened and cloudy sky as its laser boots up and fires. The last shot is of the held captive as the beam of light slams into them from above. For a game that features characters like Flash running their enemy through time, or others being smashed and electrified through ancient ruins, this one is certainly up there in terms of style and flair.

Interestingly enough, with less than a month left before release, there's still a ton of information fans don't yet know about the DC Comics inspired fighter. NetherRealm has been releasing new character trailers on a weekly basis, but as of now, the roster is still incomplete. Many single player and multiplayer modes are still under wraps, and only just recently the new Gear System mechanic was featured in a longer trailer. With so much left to learn, fans should likely expect to hear a lot more in the coming weeks prior to launch.
