One of the main draws of Injustice 2 is its use of the DC Comics pantheon for its roster. In this fighting game, players can duke it out as some of the most iconic superheroes in pop culture as well as those who are slightly more obscure. However, some characters in this universe are capable of moving planets. Others can warp the very fabric of reality. How do you put that in a fighting game and maintain balance?

Luckily, developer NetherRealm has proven extremely creative in this area. The sick inventiveness that they put toward the gruesome Fatalities in Mortal Kombat has always left players both impressed and repulsed. Now, they turn that inventiveness toward DC, giving a supreme demonstration of these characters' godlike abilities through their Super Moves. Even among all that power, a select few stand out as more Super than the rest.

10 Batman

Batman poses in Injustice 2

Considering how oversaturated Batman is at this point, it makes sense that his super move would dial up the fan service. He flies his opponents into the night sky using his Batplane--which pauses in front of the moon--and lets them fall back to Earth. All the while, he fires machine guns and missiles to make their trip extra painful.

True, the Dark Knight's penchant for firearms here echoes his murderous Ben Affleck version, but one can never say that he doesn't have a sense of showmanship.

9 Superman

Superman chases his enemy in Injustice 2

The Last Son of Krypton may not utilize all of his powers for this one, but he does take enemies to his home turf in the clouds. Here, he can cut loose, letting each punch carry his adversary for miles. No matter how hard he hits, Superman always catches up for another blow.

The imagery is reminiscent of Man of Steel. Why NetherRealm is taking notes from trash is a mystery, but it's still good for spectacle. Not to mention, it's a cute contrast when he nonchalantly catches his opponent at the end, hammering home the "faster than a speeding bullet" mantra.

8 Darkseid

Darkseid catches his victim in Injustice 2

The most memorable Super Moves say a lot about their fighters, and that's certainly the case with this despot. He doesn't even look at his opponent. With his back turned, he erratically curves his Omega Beams to catch his unsuspecting enemy. These carry the poor soul into space, jerking them to and fro amidst a field of meteoroids.

Darkseid further asserts his superiority by catching his adversaries in his colossal hand, pulling them through a Boom Tube, and tossing them back into the arena like garbage. It seems barely worth his time to do this Super Move. He puts so little effort into it, yet it's still so devastating. It's far worse than anything his Apokolips games could have inflicted on gamers.

7 Brainiac

Brainiac calls an orbital strike in Injustice 2

Having his robotic minions gang up on enemies is a cheap tactic. However, anyone who fights Brainiac is dealing with a hive mind and must contend with all parts of it. That includes his colossal ship, which subsequently fires a laser on the immobilized enemy.

Some might say an orbital strike is overkill. However, it does create an undeniably imposing visual, emulating the world-ending terror that countless species must have felt. What really sells it is the moment of fear from the victim, which is sure to bring some sadistic glee to the player pulling off the attack.

6 Atom

The Atom punches Reverse Flash in Injustice 2

This Super Move isn't s flashy as the others. No oversized lasers involved, and no one is sent into space, the sky, or another dimension. One would think that NetherRealm would go nuts with their DLC characters, but no.

Rather, this attack gets by on creativity. The Atom shrinks down to the size of an ant, circling his opponent and delivering decisive blows to his/her blind spots. He then shifts into giant form for the finishing punch. This shows a deft understanding of his powers from both the developers and the character himself, showcasing one of the more overlooked superheroes in stylish fashion.

5 Hellboy

Hellboy activates his powers in Injustice 2

These developers are no strangers to out-of-left-field DLC fighters, Hellboy fits that to a tee. Sure, sending his enemies to Hell is low-hanging fruit for this guy. Ask him is he cares, though.

Like an angry frat boy, he tackles his opponents into a flaming pit. He adds insult to injury by laying into them with his engorged hand throughout the descent. Finally, he takes a searing axe which just happens to be there, leaps into the air like a lunatic, and brings his wrath down on his doomed foe. Does this belong in a NetherRealm game or a heavy metal album? Yes.

4 Raiden

Raidan summons a dragon in Injustice 2

Some might be disappointed that this doesn't harken back to the Mortal Kombat gore, but it more than makes up for that through sheer flashiness. Raiden's Super Move is similar to Batman in how he flies someone up to the moonlit sky. The similarities end there, however.

Not only does he call down lightning from the heavens, both on the ground and in the air, but he crescendos by morphing into the dragon from the Mortal Kombat logo, consuming his opponent as he plummets back to Earthrealm. Not enough fighting games let you summon dragons, but this series' twisted mythology remedies that.

3 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The Turtles crush their opponent in Injustice 2

These martial arts reptiles often fight as a group, and their best games appropriately include teamwork. As such, incorporating that teamwork into Injustice 2 is expected. What's unexpected is that their combined assault has the most personality of any Super Move.

All four brothers take a swing, pelting their enemy with their various ninja weapons. Mikey even comes in on a skateboard before using that as a projectile as well. For the big finish, all barrel toward their opponent at the same time, crushing him/her between their shells. It's radically ridiculous, cheesier than pizza, and utterly perfect.

2 Flash

Flash runs through time in Injustice 2

NetherRealm probably couldn't decide whether this move should showcase the character's superspeed or time travel abilities. Their solution was to mash them together and go nuts.

The Scarlet Speedster takes his enemies through numerous locales around the world, hurling them into objects in the blink of an eye. He even goes back in time to smash them into an angry T-rex. For the grand finale, he brings them back to the present and tosses them into a past version of themselves. It's like he dashed through several of the wackiest time-bending tales ever created within the span of a few seconds. All that's missing is for him to collide with one of his Elseworld counterparts.

1 Supergirl

Supergirl lasers her enemy in Injustice 2

Despite being more heroic than her cousin in the story, her Super Move turns out to be far more brutal. Come to think of it, it's straight out of a "Goku vs. Superman" meme. She initially appears to do the same routine by taking her opponent into the sky. Then, she keeps going.

When she gets to space, she circles the sun and chucks her enemy toward an asteroid field. The Girl of Steel ends her attack with a blast of her heat vision. This sends the other fighter careening back to Earth, the damage amplified by the slew of flaming rocks that follow. Even among the countless over-the-top attacks in Injustice 2, the cataclysmic scale of this Super Move truly cements the Kryptonians as gods among men.
