Injustice 2 Achievement List Accidentally Reveals a New Character

Over the past month, NetherRealm Studios has been on a breakneck pace revealing characters, thanks in large part to multiple trailers being published every week. As it stands now, only one character remains unannounced on the roster, and thanks to the recent achievement list posting for the game, the final spot has now been confirmed. Reader beware, there are potential spoilers for both Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2 below.

The leaked Injustice 2 achievements list features a lot of character specific achievements, and fortunately or unfortunately for some, two of them are specific to the Joker. The first achievement is 'I Love You, I Hate You' where Harley Quinn must defeat the Joker by using her Go Night Night ability as the final hit. In addition, 'Why Aren't You Laughing?' asks players to use Joker's 'Not So Funny Is It?' move to land the final hit on Batman.

While the Clown Prince of Crime has been referenced in many rumors and supposed leaked roster documents over the past few months, NetherRealm Studios has been largely silent on the matter and more importantly Ed Boon hasn't provided any trolling through Twitter as he's known to do. With the last roster spot being announced in a new event on Friday, many people expected to see Joker officially join the roster especially knowing that the date of 4/28 lines up with Issue 428 in the comics, also known as Death in the Family.

Interestingly enough, The Joker didn't technically survive the events of the first game. Not only does an alternate universe version of Joker cause Superman to go off the rails by killing him, but the Earth-1 version of the character is also transported to that world later on to essentially take his place. At the end, it's Harley who escorts Joker back to his own world, so could this same version of the character somehow find his way back to the Injustice universe or is this a completely new version of the character? Thankfully, fans don't need to wait too long to get those answers.

Are you happy to see the Joker making his return to the roster or were you hoping someone else would occupy that final spot? Let us know how you're feeling in the comments below.

Injustice 2 arrives on May 16, 2017 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
