Sony has announced September’s line-up of PlayStation Plus titles, featuring one of the PlayStation 4’s earliest hit exclusives.
Infamous: Second Son, which showcased the PlayStation 4’s hardware power via protagonist Delsin’s visually splendid superhero powers, launched the spring after the PS4 hit the market. Considering how early it was released in the PS4’s availability, there’s likely a lot of newer console owners who’ll get a lot of value out of Infamous: Second Son. But PlayStation Plus has plenty more than just Infamous in September, too.
As is typical of PlayStation Plus, September will offer six total games with two spread across each platform. As a bonus, both PlayStation Vita titles this month will be cross-buy with PlayStation 4. Here’s the full official line-up:
- Infamous: Second Son (PS4)
- Strike Vector EX (PS4)
- Truck Racer (PS3)
- Handball 2016 (PS3)
- We Are Doomed (PS Vita)
- Hatoful Boyfriend (PS Vita)
Take note that Sony initially published an incorrect line-up for September which has now been corrected, so if the games have changed since you first saw the list that is why. Alternatively, Europe has a different line-up including Child of Light instead of Strike Vector EX.
Sony has a few bonuses for September’s PlayStation Plus on top of the normal list, a great trend that’s becoming increasingly common. PlayStation VR owners will get in on the fun in September, as RIGS Mechanized Combat will be free to download and keep. The first-person arena shooter will also be available in October for PlayStation VR owners who don’t want to resubscribe just yet. A free game might make those new PlayStation VR bundles look a bit more tantalizing.
There are also a few smaller free bonuses in September. Dead by Daylight, the asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game, will be free for three days between September 15 and 18, followed by a 30% discount until September 22.
Next, players can pick up a free pack for the free-to-play Neverwinter Plus. It’ll be available to download between September 19 and October 16. And finally, That’s You!, the party game played in tandem on PlayStation 4 and mobile, is still available to pick up for free.
To sum up, September offers a AAA third-person superhero action game and an intense aerial combat game for PS4, a big rig truck racer and a licensed sports game for PS3, and a twin-stick shooter and a pigeon dating simulator on Vita. There’s also all the free bonuses, too.
PlayStation Plus for September will go live on September 5th. Make sure to download August’s PlayStation Plus games before they expire.
