The indie-developed RPG platformer Indivisible has gained a large amount of traction within the gaming community, so much so that Lab Zero Games was able to develop a Nintendo Switch port of Indivisible, which launched earlier today. The port surprised many, including the lead developer, as the Switch port was not supposed to release today.
Indivisible is one of the most popular indie games of 2019. After years of development, the game was finally picked up by publisher 505 Games and was released in October of 2019. It's a game that blends various genres and gameplay mechanics into something different, yet cohesive. The game also features a compelling and fun narrative with a wide variety of characters to discover and unlock.
The game was received very well by the gaming community, releasing on most major platforms. A Nintendo Switch version of Indivisible was slated to release later in April, but in a surprising turn of events, the game released earlier today without any kind of warning or advertisement. This came as a shock to everyone, including the lead developer who had not intended for the game to release today.
Lead developer Mike Zaimont took to Twitter and addressed the situation. He explained that the version of the game that released is an older build that does not include any of the new content featured in the most recent version of the game. Zaimont promptly apologized for the premature release. The Switch version of Indivisible is currently 20% off on the Nintendo e-shop.
Despite the unexpectedly early release of the game, many people will now have the opportunity to experience one of the most popular indie games of 2020. Given the genre-bending nature of Indivisible, new players will have a lot to learn and catch up on. Though, hopefully, they will enjoy the game all the same.
505 Games has yet to make any sort of comment with regards to the early release of the game, so the whole thing still remains a mystery. Though, given the fact that the new content featured in the most recent build was free, hopefully, Lab Zero Games will be able to add it to the Switch version later on. Regardless, many Nintendo Switch users will get to experience this amazing indie game based on Southeast Asian mythology.
Indivisible is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
