Quaint and nostalgic interactive story game Lake from developer Gamious and publisher Whitethorn Games invites PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players to come and explore the beautiful town of Providence Oaks, Oregon. The popular indie game will be gently trundling its way onto Sony consoles imminently.Gamious and Whitethorn Games announced on Twitter on April 4 that the point-and-click adventure Lake will be available to purchase as a digital download for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A physical edition will also be available from Perp Games but only in Europe for the time being, with the publisher hoping to bring the game to other regions in the near future.RELATED: Lake is a Game About Delivering MailLake originally launched back in September 2021 on Steam and Epic Games for Microsoft Windows and was added to Microsoft's subscription service Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in December 2021. PlayStation players will get to enjoy the unique experience that the game offers when it goes on sale from April 8, 2022.

Players who are unfamiliar with Lake can expect a narrative adventure that combines social choices, romance, driving, and delivering mail. A relatively short game, Lake will offer players a few hours of relaxing and unassuming gameplay that takes them on a gentle narrative journey through the fictional town of Providence Oaks. Fans of relaxing simulators such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons or Stardew Valley and narrative driven games like Life is Strange or Firewatch should appreciate the subtlety of Lake's laid back progression and play mechanics.

The slice of life simulator is set in 1986. Players will take on the role of Meredith Weiss, who returns from the city to her hometown to exchange her busy career at a software company to fill in for her father, the local mail carrier. During her two-week stay in the game's rural portrayal of a small town in Oregon, she will meet old friends and new faces. Players get to decide who to converse with, who to befriend, and perhaps choose to start a romantic relationship with. Without giving too much away about the plot, players will be left with Meredith's dilemma to either return to her big city life or stay in her hometown to cultivate her new and old relationships.

Lake has received mostly positive reviews from gamers and critics alike with many impressed with the game's 1980s feel, cozy experience, scenic setting, fantastic voice acting, and writing. Lake currently sits at a score of 71/100 on Metacritic.

Lake is out now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and releases on April 8, 2022 for PS5 and PS5.
