Harrison Ford was spotted out and about following the recent shoulder injury he sustained while filming the long-awaited sequel Indiana Jones 5. For those who don’t know, Indiana Jones 5 is currently filming after a long development hiatus and it's bringing back its main star Ford as the iconic titular character.

Ford was spotted shopping at Selfridges, which is a high-end department store in the UK, accompanied by a security guard. He seemed to be in good shape despite suffering the injury while prepping for an Indiana Jones 5 fight, which is a good sign for fans hoping to see him have a healthy recovery. The images of Ford come from the Daily Mail.

Filming began in the UK during the month of June but was held up after Ford's on-set accident, which happened during a fight scene rehearsal. The film is slated to be released in the summer of 2022 and while it’s far-fetched to expect Ford to heal as he did during his youth, there does not seem to be any indication that the setback will cause the premiere date to be delayed. Before the injury, there were reports of Indiana Jones 5 using de-aging technology during the shoot, which will potentially be for a flashback scene of some sort that will make Ford look younger. One thing that they should consider is using a stunt actor in order to fulfill the fight scenes, similar to how The Mandalorian brought back a familiar face.

Ford is known for doing most of his own stunts during his Indiana Jones career, which Steven Spielberg says he regrets doing as Ford was running away from a 300-pound solid prop during the famous boulder scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. So it’s no surprise that he would be on board to do a stunt or two for his return to the iconic Indiana Jones franchise.

Hopefully going forward the production team is able to figure out a way in the budget to incorporate fewer physical stunts that require Ford’s involvement for safety reasons. The human body can only endure so much before it reaches its limit, and once age becomes a factor the risk rises. Filming is already taxing with 10+ hour days on your feet, so with an added fight scene, that’s more grueling for even the most physically fit person.

Still, with this potentially being the final conclusion of the long-running franchise, here’s hoping Ford won’t have to come back for another outing to this story and Indiana Jones gets the conclusion that satisfies fans and newcomers alike.

Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 29, 2022.
