A new teaser has just been released for the next-gen horror game In Sound Mind. The game looks to be a psychological horror, and a free demo is available now to play on Steam.

Modus Games' In Sound Mind is headed to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC next year, adding to the list of next-gen horror games. The story teaser shows off some gameplay that players can expect, but also details about the spine-chilling narrative.

It seems as if players will take control of a doctor, one who sees patients who are overwhelmed with feelings of dread and fear. For some reason, however, those same emotions are starting to take over the doctor, who is starting to lose his own mind. Players will use flashlights to help traverse horrifying areas and even use weapons to defend themselves from monsters.

The game is an interesting one for Modus Games, a publisher that dips its toes into many different genres. Its most recent game was Skully, a 3D platformer. In Sound Mind looks like it may be a game that has upped the ante in terms of polish.

2020 has been a strong year for horror, but what's still to come looks very intriguing. The technology of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S look to allow more immersion than ever, including tactical feedback and 3D audio. Horror games are a great genre to take advantage of these types of things. In Sound Mind looks to be one of the next-gen's early horror games, perhaps helping vault it into popularity.

In Sound Mind is set to release in 2021 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
