With such pivotal roles that can make or break a video game, voice actors are now somehow considered pseudo-celebrities by gamers and their fans. Breathing life into the world's most popular characters, it is no wonder that their talent can produce the best voice acting performances that can be found in both PC and console gaming. Using their skills, they make their characters, and themselves, memorable for generations to come.

So it is interesting for fans to see a known character's voice actor living normal lives, expressing feelings about fan reactions, and even making fun of their own family members, especially on social media. One such incident recently involved a voice actor from Ubisoft Quebec's Immortals Fenyx Rising wherein said voice actor posted a short clip of him trolling his son while he was watching him play the game.

Garnering a thousand likes and a hundred retweets, Elias Toufexis's Twitter post has the public reacting over his comments about his own son's gameplay experience with Immortals Fenyx RisingIn the short video, while Fenyx runs and jumps around looking for the next place to go to, Toufexis blatantly calls out his son and tells him that he sucks. All in good fun, he even says that his son has "no idea where to go" and that he should "get it together."

Fans have found this exchange so in character with how Toufexis plays the role of ancient Greek-inspired Prometheus, one of Immortals Fenyx Rising's main narrators. As players go through Fenyx's story, Prometheus's voice is what they will constantly hear in their adventures. With Toufexis quick to point out his son's mistakes, commenters have expressed their sympathy and talked about how interesting it would be to have contextual narration in future games.

Immortals Fenyx Rising's Prometheus is not Toufexis's first role in a Greek mythology-centric story nor his first time collaborating with Ubisoft Quebec. Lending his voice in one of Netflix's best shows of 2020, Blood of Zeus, he played the role of Seraphim, the show's main antagonist. And gamers who have played through Assassin's Creed: Odyssey will recognize his voice as Leonidas and Nikolaos, the Spartan family members of Alexios or Kassandra.

Voice acting has such a heavy impact on the industry that even highly-watched The Game Awards has dedicated an entire category to recognize notable performances. It will be interesting to see how voice actors will continue to breach the world outside of the characters they give their voices to.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
