A unique way of looking at film, Immortality released on August 30. Since then, players have been combing through various film clips and uncovering the story of fictional actress Marissa Marcel and her fate after she went missing. While Immortality has been met with a positive reception and even received perfect scores, it appears that one of the game's achievements is bugged, even after uncovering all the footage in the game.Immortality is an interactive film puzzle game in which players look through various clips and materials from Marcel's films. The game was created by Sam Barlow, who also made the acclaimed Her Story and its spiritual successor, Telling Lies. Barlow had been teasing about the game's release and its mystery-solving focus since 2020. Though a lot of people have completed the game at this point, one mystery was looming: how to unlock a specific achievement in the game, and it appears the achievement is bugged.RELATED: Her Story's Sam Barlow Teases Project A*******While a lot of players have assumed the achievement for the game was bugged after scrapping through the game's menus and all the in-game content, the official Immortality Twitter account put out a tweet on September 1 that confirmed the achievement called "Another Reality" is not unlocking properly. The tweet also acknowledges a few other bugs the game has, such as the Xbox Series X/S version of the game freezing in the middle of the credits. Though, some players have stated that they are also experiencing the freeze bug on the Steam version as well. While freezes and glitches are not surprising in modern releases, it doesn't make the experience any less frustrating for players.

While there has not been a timeline on when to expect fixes other than "soon," it appears some workarounds have been discovered to unlock the elusive "Another Reality" achievement. The achievement description reads, "Saw all subverted footage. I LIKE TALKING TO YOU." Some patch notes were released by the Steam Community that have allegedly fixed the issue on the PC version of the game, though other bugs still persist. While the game is having issues, there are currently no plans to remove the game from the Steam store or remove it from Xbox Game Pass or the Xbox Marketplace.

With Immortality being an indie game, developed by just a few people no less, it isn't a surprise that the game has a few bugs, but it does not have any game-breaking bugs like the Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. Sam Barlow, though, appears to be committed to fixing and polishing his latest game.

Immortality is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S, with a mobile version also in development.
