From family-friendly titles to the terrifying Dead Space remake, there’s something for nearly every type of gamer waiting right around the corner.

With massive releases like Elden Rings, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and two Call of Duty titles, 2022 has proven to be a great year for gamers of all sorts, and 2023 promises to be even better. Next year brings the arrival of new titles like Bethesda Softworks’ Starfield, long-awaited sequels for the Alan Wake and Diablo franchises, and even innovative new gaming hardware in the form of Sony’s PSVR2. Unfortunately for some gamers, 2023 will also mark the end of the line for several EA titles, with the publisher recently announcing that servers for 3 Medal of Honor games are shutting down in February 2023.

A new post on the r/Steam subreddit gives PC gamers a glimpse of some of the goodies in store for them in the first quarter of 2023, as user lrraya shares a screenshot of their Steam wishlist packed with upcoming titles from a variety of different genres. The eclectic list shows a mix of titles that could appeal to a wide variety of players, from family-friendly games like SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake to the Force-powered hack-and-slash Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Several horror games also earned a prominent spot on the list, with the Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 remakes marking the start and end of the quarter respectively.

Several gamers responding to the post shared their excitement about the games on lrraya’s Steam wishlist, with many posters chiming in with their own most-wanted titles for the beginning of 2023. Other posts highlighted some notable omissions from the list, with several comments expressing surprise that Starfield and Hogwarts Legacy didn’t make the cut. While many Redditors were excited about the plethora of new games arriving in the first quarter of 2023, some responses were cautiously optimistic after having been burned by pre-release hype for past games. Poking a bit of fun at the eclectic wishlist, one popular response simply stated "Horror. Horror. Horror. Sponge Bob. Horror."
